Good Afternoon Parents and Caregivers, It has been a busy couple of weeks at Casuarina Street Primary School. Our Years 3 – 6 students have been successfully partaking in an intensive swimming program. Our school captains and SRC leaders travelled to Darwin this week to attend the Grip Conference which targets the development and networking of student leaders. Last week we held our first House Meetings, where a pleasing amount of senior students had nominated
themselves for the positions of House Captains and Vice Captains. They confidently presented fantastic speeches to the groups and the new representatives were voted in. Congratulations to all students who tried out for a position. The successful candidates were:
Buchanan: Captains – Ben Cupitt & Lilijana Sajkar Vice Captions – Alex Saveliev & Tess Ousey
Elsey: Captains – Dray Yates & Nikki Allison Vice Captains – Jacob Taylor & Courtney Stewart
Kalala: Captains – Ryan Masters & Renny Kirwin
Vice Captains – Corey Haigh & Syriah Martin-Idai Tarlee: Captains – Ricky Maynard & Alijah Russell
Vice Captains – Metao Cernovskis & Amber-Lee Sonntag
These Students along with the SRC members will be presented with their badges at our Whole School Assembly on Friday. Please note that the time for this has been changed this week due to the swimming program. Whole School Assembly– Friday 27th February, 1:45pm Thursday 3rd April will be a Curriculum Day for Casuarina Street Primary School. This is a student free day to allow our staff to attend Professional Development on Visible Learning,
which has been outlined as a priority by the Department of Education. This is an important day for our staff as it builds on our continuous work on assessment for learning and creating positive impacts to improve student learning. Camp Australia will be providing a program on this day for those who wish to access their services. Thank you for your ongoing support. Craig Pauwels Acting Principal
