Casting list For our teaser trailer, we needed to select who would fit in our chosen criteria. For example, our main antagonist had to have long black hair; with a petite figure whereby it enables her to look mysterious thus making the audience want to know more about her. Here is a list of our actresses whom are playing our characters with explanations as to why we chose them to play as our characters (the character names are on to the left and the actresses names are on to the right). Main roles Lucy Smith (main protagonist) - Vidhee Sunkur Lucy Smith, whom is the main protagonist, had to have certain characteristics to fit within the Horror genre or more specifically, the ‘final girl’, through her ‘smartness, gravity, competence in mechanical and other practical matters and sexual reluctance’ (Carol J Clover, 92). So, in order for Vidhee to uphold these qualities, she needed to not be ‘fully feminine’ through her clothing and perhaps she reacts to certain occurrences. Jane Jones (main antagonist) – Mingma Gurung Jane Jones, whom is the main antagonist, had to have certain characteristics to fit within the Horror genre. Despite her limitation of her shown in our teaser trailer, Mingma has to perfect her facial expressions as well as our body posture which they will solely both be Mingma’s efforts in scaring the audience. Secondary roles Kate Brown (main protagonist) – Naima Ahmed Kate Brown, whom is the main protagonist, had to have certain characteristics to fit within the Horror genre. As we hope to uphold the Todorov’s narrative theory, we picked Kate to be our princess whereby she disappears in the forest thus this leaves Lucy to find her. The reason why Kate is the secondary role is because she isn’t mentioned in the narrative that much but she is the reason why Lucy is still in the forest. There isn’t necessarily anything we want Naima to do as Kate’s disappearance is only known to the audience
