1.0 INTRODUCTION
At the request of Dominion Doors & Windows Ltd., Exova was retained to evaluate the physical performance of a casement window identified as “3000 Series – 3-1/4" Frame with Colonial Sash”, in accordance with AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/A440-08 Standard, “NAFS – North American Fenestration Standard/Specification for windows, doors, and skylights” and A440S1-09 Canadian Supplement, as outlined in proposal number 17-006-521203.
Tests results reported herein qualify similar sash & frame window profiles including glass stop profiles for double & triple glazed units, verified by Vision Extrusions’ consultant. See die drawings in Appendix A.

2.0 SAMPLE DESCRIPTION The following sample description has been verified by Exova. Details and drawings of the described test specimen, as provided by the manufacturer, have been included in Appendix A. Product Type: Casement Window
Frame: Casement, Extruded PVC, 805 mm x 1505 mm x 83 mm (31.69" x 59.25" x 3.25"). Sash: Open Out, Extruded PVC, 763 mm x 1463 mm x 63 mm (30.04" x 57.60" x 2.49").
Joinery: Frame: Welded, mitred corners. Sash: Welded, mitred corners.
Installation:
Test buck: Wood buck Fasteners: Frame fastened to buck with nine #8 x 2" pan head screws, four per jamb, 420
mm (16.54") c/c, one at the head, mid-span. Sealant: Exterior and interior frame perimeters sealed with flexible sealant.
Glazing Type: One, dual glazed, annealed, overall thickness 22.2 mm (0.86"), glass thickness 3
mm (0.12"), gas cavity size 15.9 mm (0.63"), air filled, aluminum spacer, dual sealed, clear.

4.0 MODIFICATIONS
The following modification was made to the Dominion Doors & Windows Ltd., casement window “3000 Series – 3-1/4" Frame with Colonial Sash”, Exova Specimen No.: 17-06-M0260-2, during testing to achieve the results stated in this report:
• Water Penetration Test:
- Partial heel bead of flexible sealant was applied at the bottom rail/jamb corners, 203 mm (8.00") in the glazing cavity beneath the glass stops.
- Cap bead of flexible sealant was applied at the sill/jamb corners, 203 mm (8.00") at the glass stop fins.
- The three keepers were adjusted to 55 mm (2.17"), 710 mm (27.95"), and 1335 mm (52.56") from the bottom rail.
- The two original snubber was replaced with a new snubber and one additional snubber was installed. The snubbers were located 215 mm (8.46") from ends and one at the mid-span.
- Two 25.4 mm (1.00") drain notches were cut-out at the fin at the bottom of the sash, located 50 mm (1.97") from the ends.
- One 3.2 mm (0.13") diameter drain hole was cut-out at the sill located at the mid-span.

5.0 CONCLUSIONS
Based on the results of the testing summarized in Tables 1, Dominion Doors & Windows Ltd., casement window “3000 Series – 3-1/4" Frame with Colonial Sash”, Exova Specimen No.: 17-06-M0260-2 met the following requirements as outlined in the AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/A440-08 standard and A440S1-09 Canadian Supplement. Tests results reported herein qualify similar sash & frame window profiles including glass stop profiles for double & triple glazed units, verified by Vision Extrusions’ consultant.
