For the fourth season of Danni Lowinski, the episodes were shot in Cologne, Germany on a RED camera with the files being transcoded to ProRes LT. The sound and pictures were synced in Final Cut Pro X. Hake’s assistant put the files on a server after organizing the events which Hake would then download directly to his Pegasus J4 for editing. Hake then edited the rough cuts in his studio in Berlin and traveled to Cologne to make the final cuts with the show’s director.

The Pegasus J4 has proven to be extremely versatile and helpful to Hake, as he can now seamlessly move his edit suite from Berlin to Cologne, and best of all, he can take the J4 as hand luggage so he doesn’t need to worry about destroying or losing the drives in the mail. With his laptop, an AJA T-tap and the Pegasus J4, Hake has the flexibility to take his edit studio with him wherever his work needs him to be. Hake has equipped his Pegasus J4 with 4x 480GB 2.5” Intel® 520 Series SSDs which have delivered amazing performance!

The Pegasus J2, a remarkably fast mSATA SSD RAID small enough to fit your pocket, has become a key device for Hake. Hake uses the Pegasus J2 to clone his home system which enables him to boot the system from his J2 when he is away from his edit studio. Everything is just like it is at home and he has all of his preferences for Final Cut Pro X and iTunes, which means he can be off and running in no time!

What He ThinksHake has made the Pegasus family a key part of his workflow for the first four seasons of Danni Lowinski and plans to use Pegasus for the shows upcoming fifth and final season. For the fourth season of Danni Lowinski the Pegasus J4 played a leading role. “The Pegasus J4 with Intel® 520 Series SSDs has been amazing!” said Hake. “It is extremely fast and responsive with Final Cut Pro X.”

Additionally, the Pegasus J4 is very quiet, a key benefit to Hake. “I love how quiet the J4 is - that is very important to me because I really like a quiet environment that lets me focus on the story I want to tell.”

Meanwhile, the portability of the system has revolutionized how he works. “I love the flexibility of the system,” said Hake. “Having the convenience to move an edit suite from one place to another is a really great thing.”
