No two candidates can have the same set of questions in an interview.
It is a tool which helps the interviewer to asses the appropriate candidate for the position in the organization.
What is an Interview? An interview is a conversation
between an employer and a candidate for both parties to learn more about each other for the purpose of filling a position within a company or organization. Here both the parties have a need: the b-school candidate wants a job and the interviewer wants to find the right person to fill the job.
Understand the expectations of the market. Prepare the students as “Day one ready
managers”. Designing a mentoring program for the
students which should include the following:1. Personality assessment tests.2. Brainstorming sessions with the senior
students.3. Conducting the “Mock Interview” sessions .
4. Guidance to students about different sectors, industry and company profiles.
5.Imbibing in the minds of students the concept of self-Introspection preventing them to be a “Square peg in a circle”.
For a campus Interview:1. Thorough details about the project.2. Have the guts to say “NO” about an unfamiliar
topic.3. Prepare a proper CV which should portray the
candidates honesty in whatever he speaks.4. Be specific upon the strengths and weaknesses.5. Do not leave a chance to give an idea to the
interviewer regarding your loyalty to the services.6. Have a thorough self introspection if asked
examples on strengths and weaknesses.
Core strategies to crack the interview:1. Know yourself.2. Know the company.3. Know the roles.4. Understand the recruiter’s nerves
Clarity of thought process. Willingness to accept the responsibility. Analytical/Logical approach. Avoidance of prevaricative behaviour.
Relevance with the current issues. Structural approach. Applicable thought models. Clarification on any missed information. Properly outlined analysis.
Know your profile well. Know the organization well. Know your strengths and weaknesses. Sell yourself. Keep your praise & observations
credible & realistic. Do your homework well. Answer questions directly.
