OUR CHALLENGE

The company already enjoyed a great reputation within the industry and had a truly national presence.

This reputation allowed them to embark upon a sustained period of investment which meant Hallmark needed to attract the best talent in the sector to help support this period of continued growth.

The successful candidate would be accountable for maximising profitability, motivating and inspiring subordinates, P+L, occupancy levels, marketing budgets, staff development, key performance indicators, relationship-centered care, clinical compliance, hospitality services and overall business performance.

OUR CANDIDATE

The nature of this role meant that our potential candidate would need exceptionally strong communication skills, a proactive mind-set and a real drive and ambition to take Hallmark further forward in the market.

We were also looking for someone with a strong care delivery background, focussing directly within dementia care.

OUR SOLUTION

We immediately identified, that due to the very sensitive nature of the business, the ideal candidate would have to have a full appreciation of the business environment and therefore have a background which related to the care industry.

They would also need a proven track record in delivering relationship-centred care across a continued job history. The challenge would be in finding a candidate with the right mix of experience within care, but also a core understanding of the commercial side of the business.

KNOWING OUR CLIENTS

Hallmark had a very clear vision of the candidate they wanted to attract and we realised that our greatest challenge would be location.

We knew that finding someone living in the Wimbledon area with a luxury background would be difficult, especially with the restrictive salary expectation, and so we widened our industry headhunt to incorporate a greater catchment area, considering candidates that would commute.

THE BUSINESS – HALLMARK CARE HOMES

Hallmark care homes are a group of leading relationship-centred care homes, focussing on creating communities that offer activities, independence and choice.

Established in 1997 with the first care home opening in Wales under the name Hallmark Healthcare, the family-run business has gone from strength to strength and currently has 20 large high-specification care homes in their portfolio. and the reason for many of their business successes.

IDENTIFYING OUR CANDIDATES

We identified a number of key candidates from a variety of backgrounds and businesses that related to the care sector. We mapped out the entire market, identifying the right competitors to approach – with full confidentiality as always.

Hallmark took four candidates through to their assessment centre, two made it to the final stage and from that Hallmark made their appointment.

SIMPLY BRINGING THE RIGHT PEOPLE TOGETHER

In a nutshell, this is what we do. We identified a number of suitable candidates who fit both the role and the requirements of organisation as a whole.

As whole-of-market headhunters, we really used our more expansive talent pool to provide Hallmark with exactly the candidate they wanted for the care manager role and organisation as a whole.
