The national leader in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sales and marketing needed to make their clients’ POS programs more scalable. Additionally, they needed greater visibility into their Total Cost of Ownership, as they had grown rapidly through an aggressive acquisition strategy, which had createda decentralized procurement process.

Impressio’s initial needs assessment identified several areas of opportunity. First, we independently evaluated their pool of 57 providers and narrowed the list to 15 Best In Class providers. This eliminated “re-selling” situations and leveraged efficiencies of scale. In addition, we standardized recurring POS products, thereby eliminating hundreds of one-time die costs. Finally, we helped value-engineer products so they could be more efficiently manufactured with lower material costs without affecting the business application. Impressio completely transformed Acosta’s network of preferred providers, and drove a very successful realignment with the client’s needs and desire for cost savings.

Impressio achieved year-over-year savings of 29% -- for five consecutive years – for this CPG giant. Included in this amount was an initial 43% savings in the first year. In addition, we deployed an integrated software platform that allowed the client to in-source $1 million/year in costs.
