Detailed analysis of front cover. The NME front cover always contains a bold red masthead “NME” and usualy a large image of a single person instead of the whole band. It always contains relative anchorage text in red and white, the main point in the anchorage text is done in the same font as the masthead and the rest is done in an alternative text. The colour scheme for the NME is red, white and black. The front cover of NME contains examples of buzzwords “exclusive” and cover lines “T in the park preview”.

Detailed analysis of contents pageThe NME contents page has similar conventions as the front cover e.g. It has the same colour scheme (red/white/black). The contents page contains adverts which stand out because they don't follow the colour scheme. The contents page is also set out in columns and only contains one main image instead of lots of little ones.

Detailed analysis of double page spread

The double page spread in NME again follows the colour scheme of red white and black. The double page spread also contains larger images relating to the article and smaller ones the biggest taking up half a page. The first capital in each paragraph uses drop capitals and the first capital in the article is much bigger than the rest. The pictures have captions aswell.

Conclusion

I will be using some aspects of the NME in my magazine such as using a repeating colour scheme throughout the whole magazine. Also NME approaches the same sort of music as my magazine will cover.Things that I will not be doing in my magazine is publishing it weekly I will be publishing a quarterly magazine. Also my magazine will be free.
