CASE IH 3200/3400 CORNHEAD UPDATES FOR 2010

3200/3400 Series Cornhead

In August 2008, Case IH launched the 3200 and 3400 Series corn heads, which incorporate point-to-point stalk rolls for improved stalk residue processing performance. This design delivers more consistent stalk residue processing in a wider range of conditions than the prior intermeshing style rolls. New and emerging GMO corn varieties with tougher, greener stalks require good residue processing performance to ensure stalk decay for the

following crop, and residue fl ow through tillage and planting equipment.

While residue processing performance has been improved with the 3200 and 3400 Series corn heads, the new design has experienced row unit frame defl ection and vibration in tough, green stalk conditions.These conditions were much more prevalant during the 2009 harvest and resulted in higher than typical loading

Product UpgradeA reinforcement brace will be added between the row unit frame legs. These will signifi cantly strengthen the row unit frames and allow them to handle the forces created by tough stalk conditions.

Campaign Upgrade All 3200 & 3400 Series cornheads will receive row unit frame reinforcements.

Row Unit Frame ReinforcementEach row unit will receive an inner frame reinforcement member. These frame braces will signifi cantly strengthen the row units.

Outer Row ReinforcementThe outer row units will receive reinforcement bracing. This will be part of the upgrade program.

(implemented on MY ’10 production)

All 3200/3400 corn heads built prior to production implementation of these changes will be updated. Dealers will have parts available to complete updates before the 2010 season.

In addition to the update program, the base warranty has been extended one year on all 2010 and prior model 3200/3400 Series corn heads. Case IHis committed to improving the quality and reliability of Axial-Flow combines and headers, and we are confi dent these improvements will meet the expectations of our customers.

Heavier Hood Latch Roll PinAll cornheads will receive a heavier hood latch pin. This will also be a part of the campaign upgrade.

Campaign Upgrade3200 & 3400 Series cornheads will receive these chain guides in the upgrade.

Gathering Chain GuideThe left hand gathering chain guide will be replaced with a more robust design. The new guide includes new front and rear mounting brackets that use a higher strength steel to provide fatigue resistance and the rear bracket was made wider and taller for improved strength.

Case IH cornheads have long been known for picking cleanly, high capacity and uniform residue management. The point to point stalk rolls in the 3200/3400 Series continue that tradition.

Upon completion of the Cornhead Upgrades, all 2008 & 2009 Model Year 3200 & 3400 Series cornheads will receive an additional year of warranty.

All Model Year 2010 cornheads will receive two full years of warranty coverage.

The same warranty terms will apply to the extended warranty as apply to the base warranty.
