Cartridge Filtration
| Leading edge technology from the air filtration pioneers
Delivering excellencethrough innovation& technology
Our heritage
For more than 90 years AAF International has been providing
filtration solutions for industrial processes around the globe.
Our reputation for providing quality products and innovative
solutions dates back to 1921 when a young paint shop
entrepreneur pioneered the removal of airborne contaminants
to improve the quality of automobile paint finishes.
Throughout our rich history AAF International has pioneered many of thetechniques used today to control airborne dust, fume and vapour. With anextensive portfolio of products and solutions, individually tailored to meet the application requirements of our customers, AAF International continuesto pioneer industrial air filtration.
Since industry is perpetually advanced by new technology, AAF Internationaltoday continues to invest thousands of hours in the research and development of new products to embrace the challenge provided by modern industrial processes. Ensuring we deliver the most extensive, cost effective and energy efficient product portfolio available in the market today.
Since every operator understands the importance of maximising their
return on investment, AAF is able to correlate functionality versus cost.

Leading competitor cartridge REDClean® cartridge
AAF product designs are focused on life cycle cost so that operators are able to easily quantify the total cost of plant ownership, to fully appreciate and evaluate product performance against known criteria. Through our extensive research and development programme we are able to quantify the improvement versus alternate suppliers. Switching to REDClean® allows customers to maximise customer investment and value for money.
Switching from standard cartridges to REDClean® NFR cartridges has been proven in testing to increase filter life by up to 50% (compared to the leading competitor). This is due to advanced dust release properties, that reduce the frequency of pulse cleaning. The additional benefit of this performance improvement is the cost of compressed air usage is reduced by 50%, while enhanced filtration performance and efficiency are maintained.

Reducing the cost of clean air
AAF cartridge technology allows operators to realise
substantial cost savings in their total plant ownership by
reducing power consumption, enhancing efficiency and
extending the time between change-outs even in the most
difficult industries and applications:
REDClean® has been specifically developed to withstand the rigoursof pulse cleaning with superior dust release. This reduction enhancesfilter life and reduces the cost of ownership. In trials REDClean® outperforms all standard media, including the leading competitor.Switching to REDClean® cartridges is the quick and easy wayfor operators to maximise savings and improve their bottom line.
I Increased efficiency - MERV 14 & F9 EN 779
I Increased filter life - 50% increase compared to leading competitor
I Reduced compressed air costs - less pulse cleaning required
I Lower stable operating pressure - reducing the cost of operation
I Lower cost of ownership - reducing the cost of providing clean air
Media
The correct choice of media is critical in the design of any filtration
system. REDCleanTM cartridges are designed to extend filtration life
whilst reducing operational pressure drop, change frequency and
operational costs. Through extensive research and development
AAF has developed the REDCleanTM range of cartridges suitable for
the most arduous applications. This is supplemented by our nanofiber
technology to deliver class-leading performance when measured
against other commercially available medias.

Better by design
Whether it is wet, sticky, oil laden air or hygroscopic and explosive dust
AAF International has a solution to compliment your operation.
With an extensive list of references spanning more than 90 yearsAAF International has tackled some of the most difficult applicationsin almost every industrial sector. At AAF we understand that every application is different and that looks can be deceptive; as performance of filtration media can significantly vary. Only through extreme micro examination of a filter cartridge can substandard media be truly identified. Poor selection will lead to premature failure, unscheduled downtime and additional cost to the operator. AAF’s extensive development programme has allowed us to perfect the REDClean® filter construction, combining advanced substrates with our rangeof specialist media and coatings, to create an unbeatable blend of high performance filtration and innate strength.
Whatever the application AAF has a cartridge to match your requirements.
Assembly
Whilst many companies can pleat media and produce standard cartridges very few
understand the technology of pleating and the importance of assembly to overall filtration
performance. Through our extensive research into pleat optimisation AAF has been able
to quantify significant improvements to our range of cartridges.
Any cartridge is only as good as the assembly of its individual components and through consistent, repeatable assembly through our ISO certified production facilities AAF is able to guarantee performance.
End capsWhilst traditional open ended cartridges can be supplied in a variety of materials and finishes from galvanised and powder coated steel to plastic, AAF is also able to offer a variety of fixings to suit the majority of original manufacturers’ equipment; this includes trays, lugs and twist locks.
Liners and bandingThe strength of any cartridge comes from its carefully engineered construction. At AAF we maximise the strength of the canister through carefully designed mesh and banding engineered to be unobtrusive to the cartridges filtration performance and dust release.
AdhesivesUnlike more traditional static filter cartridges, the cartridge used in reverse pulse cleaning needs to be robust enough to withstand the stresses from the pulse cleaning operation through the full life cycle of the product. AAF only selects adhesives and potting compounds specifically designed to withstand the rigours of the pulse cleaning operation.
GasketsAny cartridge or filtration product is only as good as its effective sealing technology. As many maintenance managers understand an incorrectlydesigned simple gasket can result in substantial losses in production, high emissions and penalties. Through extensive trials AAF has optimised gasket performance to maximise gasket shape, moulding and splice design.
Coatings and treatmentsTo ensure optimum plant performance and minimum operational life cycle cost, AAF has developed a range of class-leading products based upon our proven nanofiber technology. This can be supplemented for more specialist applications with our range of coatings and treatments:
Antistatic For explosive application
Hydrophobic For high humidity
PTFE Web Forultrafiltrationperformance
Media selectionTo ensure filtration performance and longevity of life only a high performing media
should be chosen, avoiding premature filter failure, unscheduled downtime and
cost to the operator. Any dust collector is only as good as its filtration medium.
As one of the largest suppliers of cartridge collectors in the world today AAF has years of experiencein selecting products based upon application operating knowledge and provide a general guide onmedia selections in the table below. We would however always recommend contacting your localrepresentative for optimum product selection to suit your exact application requirements
