Così come si sfrega la lampada di Aladino per far avverare i desideri, allo stesso modo se si usa la carta di pagamento è possibile acquistare ciò che si desidera. La carta è vista come una moderna lampada di Aladino che, se usata con intelligenza e giudizio, abbrevia i tempi e rende l’acquisto più immediato. La lampada è contrassegnata da elementi che rimandano alla carta di pagamento, con tanto di codice IBAN e firma identificativa, dalla quale fuoriesce una serie di oggetti. L’artista esprime così le positività che risiedono nella frontiera dell’e-commerce e delle tecnologie legate ai mobile payments, strumenti che possono far avverare i desideri di ognuno.

L’OPERA THE ARTWORK

HELEnE CORtEsE Laureata in Conservazione dei beni Culturali e Ambientali con una tesi sull’iconografia dell’arte giapponese nell’opera di Degas, Cortese inizia a esporre i suoi lavori negli anni ‘90 e nel maggio del ‘93 viene premiata al 3° Concorso Nazionale “Le Caravelle” del golfo del Tigullio. Nel ‘95 espone a MIARTE e nel ‘96 a EXPO 96, in Francia. Partecipa al “Progetto Libro”, in occasione della fiera del libro di Bologna, e avvia una serie di mostre personali a Genova, Torino, Chiavari, Crema, San Donato Milanese, Roma. Nel luglio 2006 è vincitrice del premio “Pagine bianche d’autore” per la regione Liguria. Dal 2010 il suo profilo artistico viene inserito all’interno del “Dizionario degli artisti Liguri”, a cura di Germano Berlingheli. Helene è un’artista che ama l’incontro e il dialogo con il pubblico. Le sue mostre vengono realizzate in contesti che superano il concetto classico della galleria d’arte e le sue tele sono caratterizzate da colori vivaci e allegri, sulla scia del fauvismo.

After completing a Degree in Conservation of the Cultural and Environmental Heritage, with a thesis on “Iconography of Japanese Art in the Work of Degas”, Cortese began to exhibit her works in the 1990s and, in May 1993, was awarded a prize at the 3rd National Competition “Le Caravelle”, held in the Gulf of Tigullio (Italy). In 1995 she exhibited her works at MIARTE and, in 1996, at EXPO 96 in France. During the Bologna Book Fair she participated in “Progetto Libro” project then embarked on a series of solo exhibitions in Genoa, Turin, Chiavari, Crema, San Donato Milanese and Rome. In July 2006 she won the “Pagine Bianche d’Autore” Prize for the Liguria Region. Since 2010 her artistic profile has been featuring in the “Dictionary of Artists from Liguria”, edited by Germano Berlingheli. Helene is an artist who enjoys meeting and exchanging views with the public. Her exhibitions are held in contexts that transcend the traditional art gallery concept, and her paintings are characterised by bright, gay colours reminiscent of Fauvism.

“Events in Art” is a project that promotes the talent of young artists, using the artworks as identifying images of the Conferences. The objective of the initiative is to promote art and culture during the events organized by ABIServizi S.p.A.This project is realized in collaboration with Fabbrica di Lampadine.

Just as rubbing Aladdin’s lamp makes our desires come to life, so using our payment card allows us to purchase whatever we desire. The card can be likened to a modern-day Aladdin’s lamp: if used wisely and intelligently, it can help speed up our purchasing experience. The lamp features elements which evoke the payment card – including the IBAN and identification signature – out of which a series of objects emerge. In this way, the artist intends expressing the positive aspects related to e-commerce and technologies associated with mobile payments – tools capable of materialising everybody’s desires.
