What will happen when earths carrying capacity is reached?
What is Carrying Capacity?
• Carrying Capacity is the number of individuals of a species the environment can support.
• For example if rabbits go into a field and there population might increase. When that happens eventually there food will become scarce and they will start dying and there population will decrease.
Carrying capacity for humans
• Humans have a carrying capacity like other species do.
• The more people there are the more resources they need.
• These resources come from the enviornment and when we keep using them they will eventually run out.
Carrying capacity for humans
Human waste
• The more humans there are the more waste is produced this means that it will have to be recycled.
• Soon the population will increase dramatically and the food will run out.
What Scientists think?
• For thousands of years the human population grew slowly but 300 years ago our food supply began to increase and our health care led to increase in population.
• Scientists are saying that the human population is growing in a dangerously fast rate.
Consequences of carrying capacity being reached
• If earths carrying capacity would be reached it would be a major problem in the world.
• No one will be able to do anything about it
Consequences of carrying capacity being reached
Causes
• It can be caused by not enough food or water or even oxygen.
• The world can reach its carrying capacity by the world getting over crowded.
Conclusion
• In conclusion I can say that if earth reaches its carrying capacity it will be catastrophic.
• We must try to prevent this from happening by trying to cut down on the food or wasting space on things that don’t mean anything to us.
