Volkswagen Aqua Hovercraft

The Volkswagen Aqua is a futuristic hovercraft conceptcreated by Zhang Yuhan, a 21 year old designer fromChina. Yuhan just graduated with honors from XihuaUniversity with a degree in Industrial Design. Currentlyshe's in the process of selecting a Transportation Design

course to further her studies.

The Volkswagen Aqua is designed to cope with the widevariety of terrain which covers China. From the lakes,

rivers and coastal waters, to the roads, wetlands and snowand ice. The concept was shortlisted in the CDN CarDesign Awards China, based on the brief entitled simply;"Chinese off-road vehicle" by Volkswagen.

Zhang Yuhan designer, creator of the conceptAqua decided to change the classic image of Volkswagen.This young Chinese, just 21 years old, conducted for the firm

Germanic concept VW amphibious Aqua. This is a hovercraftthat can evolve on land as on water. Side appearance, thevehicle resembles a sports car that has airbags in the front.At the rear, it has two engines and two high side thrusters.

These last two retract and act as the rear wheels. Vehicledesign does not detract from the style unique toVolkswagen. VW Aqua has only two seats and a door at therear. The all-terrain vehicle does not emit any CO2 gram.

Aqua carries two green engine a fuel cell engine andhydrogen-powered electric motor. The latter hydrogenpowered motor deals exclusively with propellants. Thishovercraft stamped WV was designed for the contest CDN

Car Design Award China.
