WHAT ARE SOME INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT CAROLINE CHISHOLM’S EARLY LIFE?

 

Caroline Chisholm began life as Caroline Jones. Caroline Chisholm was born in England 1808 and died in London on the 25TH of March, 1877. Caroline was christened and grew up as part of the Church of England. As a child, Caroline was the youngest of a large family, was educated for some of the time at least, by an educator. Caroline became a Catholic in 1831.At the age of 22 she married Captain Archibald Chisolm.

WHAT CONTRIBUTION DID CAROLINE CHISHOLM MAKE TO AUSTRALIA?

While she started a school for daughters of European soldiers, teaching them practical skills, Caroline Chisholm helped many people. Caroline Chisholm helped female immigrants. From 1841 to 1844, Caroline Chisholm helped over 14 000 people, 11 000 of them were people who came to Australia from other countries.

WHY DID CAROLINE CHISHOLM TAKE THIS PATH IN HER LIFE?

Caroline Chisholm helped many people she helped a lot of immigrants and she also created a school. For thirty years she worked to assist single women and families to migrate and settle in Australia. Caroline Chisholm helped thousands of immigrants in many ways. In 1854, Caroline helped to teach English to local Chinese people while she lived in Kyneton. Kyneton was a place where people travelled as they worked in the goldfields in Castlemaine and Bendigo.

Caroline Chisholm also helped new refugees to find affordable shelter during their stay as they worked in the goldfields.

HOW DID CAROLINE CHISHOLM’S WORK MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD?

Her work made a difference in the world because she helped over a 14,000 immigrants and set up a school for kids to learn ,read and write. She helped many people to learn so many new things. Often women got treated unfairly but Caroline Chisolm helped people and made sure they weren’t treated badly.
