International leaders in the fields of optics and optoelectronics, Carl Zeiss, installed a 531.7kW Kingspan Energy solar photovoltaic system on their manufacturing facility in Thornwood, USA in September 2014.

This project is part of Carl Zeiss’ plans to expand their commitment to sustainability across all its global operations.

Superior Energy Solutions

The energy installation for this project consists of an energy- efficient LED lighting upgrade, a building energy management system and the Rooftop Solar PV. All these elements combined will yield a total annual energy saving of nearly 1,040,864 kWh.

Speed of Construction

Rooftop Solar PV systems can be installed extremely quickly. This new build project covers an area of 50 000sq ft and the entire energy system was installed in 90 days. This quick installation process meant site attendance costs were also reduced.
