ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING

Description: On certain passenger vehicles equippedwith a 2.5 liter engine, the crankshaftposition sensor can overheat causing abrief interruption in the signal output fromthe sensor. If the interruption in the signalfrom the crankshaft position sensor is sobrief that the electronic control module(ECM) logic does not have time todiagnose the condition, the engine maystop running without warning while thevehicle is driven at a low speed increasingthe risk of a crash. Dealers will reprogramthe ECM free of charge. Certain MY2006Altimas which have been previouslyremedied under recall campaign 06V223(Nissan R0606) are not included in thisrecall since the reprogramming for06V223 also included this reprogramming.

The recall is expected to begin on or aboutDecember 10, 2007. Owners may contactNissan at 1-800-647-7261.
