Powertrain Testing

Independent, repeatable testing is essential for our customers to stay at the forefront of performance, consumption, range and clean fuel technologies.

We work with the best companies in the world on the most interesting development projects. We support fuel, lubricant, engine and vehicle development, by testing for emissions, fuel consumption, energy and range. Every day we design test programmes to meet customers’ objectives as well as conducting regulatory testing.

We test and benchmark products on the proving ground and real roads using Portable Emissions Measurement Systems (PEMS). We test in state-of the-art laboratories including e-Machine test laboratories, 4WD climatic emissions chassis dynamometers and engine test cells.

We are investing in new facilities to support the growth of the business as well as the growing complexity of technologies, so we are always looking for the best talent. Locations• UK, Bedford

Test Support Services

The test services we provide at Millbrook rely heavily on our ability to take measurements and improve our processes.

The instruments we use to take measurements need to be accurate and repeatable and to ensure this, we perform regular calibrations on our measuring equipment. From accelerometers to pressure gauges, temperature probes to torque wrenches, load cells to data loggers, they are all checked carefully by our calibration team and the results are compared to a trusted calibration reference. Performing calibrations regularly helps to ensure our customers are confident in the knowledge that we’ve supplied them with high quality measurements.

We are always looking for ways to improve in everything we do at Millbrook. The test support services team assists other Millbrook departments by helping them to gain insight into their areas of the business so they know where to focus their improvement effort.

These measurements or metrics are typically referred to as Key Performance Indicators or KPIs. They are essential tools which help drive continuous improvement and quality. We use them to help us to improve our business.
