Portfolio RequirementsPortfolio Requirements• 3 inch three ring binder with dividers
and page protectors.– Bring these to class by September 16
• Three portfolio sections:– LEARNER– CAREER– CITIZEN
LEARNER DocumentsLEARNER Documents• Four Best Works
– Must be something where you did your best, learned something, and are proud of your work.
– Must be from 4 different classes.
– One due each quarter.– Your teachers may give
you recommendations for Best Work submissions.

– Place copies of awards in your portfolio.– Keep track of these for your resume’, and scholarship/college
applications.• Community Connection
– 10 hours are required each year of high school– Start thinking of what you will do this year – your Careers
teacher must give prior approval.– When you are ready to start your Community Connection,
write and type a brief proposal and turn it in to your Careers teacher for prior approval.
– Once approved, complete and document your hours.• Community Connection Reflection Paper• Community Connection must be successfully completed in
order to pass Careers.

Your portfolio documents should be typed or neatly hand written.
Make sure your documents look professional and may be read by anyone.

PRESENTATIONPRESENTATION(AKA: Student Led Conference or SLC)(AKA: Student Led Conference or SLC)
Your Student Led Conference will take place in May.
The SLC is a multi-media presentation (given by you) which includes pieces of your portfolio.
You will have 15-20 minutes for your presentation.
The SLC is mandatory - it must be successfully completed in order to pass Careers.
