Careers Assignment

Pediatrician• A doctor who deals with infants, children and adolescents • Reduce infant and child mortality, control infectious
disease, foster healthy lifestyles and ease the difficulties of children and adolescents with chronic conditions
• Treat infections, injuries, genetic defects, organic diseases and dysfunctions
• Pediatricians also aid with emotional difficulties • Pediatrics is a collaborative specialty
• To become a pediatrician you must have 4 years of undergraduate degree in college, 4 years of medical school and at least three years of an internship and residency
• Pediatric residency training emphasizes care of the whole infant, child, adolescent, and young adult.
• Pediatricians work 50 hours a week, but are also on call outside of office hours
• Pediatricians make about $300,000 per year
Piano teacher/coach:• Side job • Charge $20 an hour - work about 5 hrs a week (approx
$5,000 per year) • Work out of my home • To become piano teacher through RCM: complete grade
9 and 10 piano, do Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced ARCT in piano pedagogy, complete Basic, Intermediate and Advanced harmony, do Intermediate and Advanced History, counterpoint, and analysis
• Possibly I could become a coach instead of a teacher – aid students who already have a teacher, with their pieces and technique
• Example of piano teacher is Aline Banno – my teacher
