What is a career ?A JOB is a paid position requiring a group of specific attributes and skills that enable a person to perform tasks in an organisation either part-time or full-time for a short or long duration.
An OCCUPATION or PROFESSION is defined as a group of similar jobs found in different industries or organisations.
A CAREER is the sequence and variety of occupations (paid and unpaid) which one undertakes throughout a lifetime. More broadly, 'career ' includes life roles, leisure activities, learning and work.

What is an experience?Experience as a general concept
comprises knowledge of or skill of some thing or some event gained through involvement in or exposure to that thing or event.
How can an experienced be measured ?
"Is Monty playing his 33rd Test or first Test the 33rd time ?"

What is a body of work?Body of Work as something that is comprised of multiple pieces
that are cohesive in nature.
Arthur "Art" Buchwald and his body of workan American humorist best known for his long-running column in The Washington Post
J.K. Rowling and her body of workBody of work in a trunk4175 pages, 8 movies, 17 yearsIt is proof that she lived, thought, and acted
Questions to ask yourself:• When you stand at the end of your career , what will your body of work look like?
• Is it something that you will be proud of having written, or composed, or done?
Because the reality is, you paid for it with your life. Long after you are gone, it is all that will remain.

A quick recap- how is all this connected ?A career spans around 30-35 years.
A career is divided into different professional eras.We gain experience in each of these eras.
Each professional era has its own legacy.
The richness of experience we expose ourselves to forms the basis of our Growth.
Our Legacy is immortalized by the Body of work we come up with.

Learn to accept criticism, and put it to good use. Sometimes when people don’t improve, it’s because they’re not listening to the people around them.
• Always be available to help others do something outside your role.
• Tell your manager about your career ambitions. It’s important to have your current manager and your potential future manager on your side.
• Don’t apply for just anything. Be clear about your goals, and people will help you achieve them.
• Find mentors.
