  • Additional General Career Advancement Programs:As of March 20, 2012Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundationhttp://www.emmysfoundation.org/The TV Academy Foundation's summer Student Internship Program provides over 40 industry-wide internships to college and graduate students from across the country, and has been hailed for more than a decade as one of the top ten internships in the country. The program gives college students in-depth exposure to professional television production during an eight-week summer period in Los Angeles.

    Arts & Business Council of NY - Multicultural Arts Management Internship Program:http://www.artsandbusiness-ny.org/leadership_development/arts_management/default.aspThe Multicultural Arts Management Internship program was created to promote diversity in arts management careers and to provide young people who have an interest in a career in either the arts or business with a hands-on introduction to work in the business fields of the nonprofit arts sector. Each summer, the Arts & Business Council of New York matches select undergraduate students with arts organizations who need their help and with corporate mentors who can guide their personal and professional growth. Over ten weeks, interns complete projects in marketing and communications, development and fundraising, event planning, audience development, community outreach, and more. In addition, interns attend site visits to all participating arts organizations, an opening orientation breakfast meeting, weekly social gatherings and/or workshops, and a closing ceremony and dinner.

    BRAG (Black Retail Action Group) - Retail Internship Program: http://bragusa.org/internshipsThe BRAG Summer Internship is a comprehensive 11-week work and professional development module designed to expose African American and other college students of color to retail and retail related fields in a no-nonsense realistic setting. Beginning the first Monday in June the eleven-week program is action-packed with seminars, workshops, retail math classes, a business case study and executive level work responsibilities. In addition, BRAG provides each intern with a mentor, one-on-one counseling, a summer picnic where interns can interact with the BRAG board of directors and members of the sponsoring companies and a dress-for-success workshop.

Rangel International Affairs Program:http://www.rangelprogram.org/The Rangel Program is a collaborative effort between Howard University and the U.S. State Department that seeks to attract and prepare outstanding young people for careers as diplomats in the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State. The program seeks individuals interested in helping to shape a freer, more secure and prosperous world through formulating, representing, and implementing U.S. foreign policy. The Program encourages the application of members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service and those with financial need.

    Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI):http://www.chci.org/The purpose of the Congressional Internship Program (CIP) is to expose young Latinos to the legislative process and to strengthen their professional and leadership skills, ultimately promoting the presence of Latinos on Capitol Hill and in Federal Agencies. The Congressional Internship Program provides college students with a paid work placement in a Congressional Office or Federal Agency for a period of twelve weeks (Spring/Fall) or eight weeks (Summer). This unmatched experience allows students to learn first hand about our nation's legislative process. Promising Latino undergraduates from across the country are selected for this leadership training program. Students gain work experience, participate in a community service project, and receive educational and professional programming provided by CHCI. This comprehensive three-prong approach provides extraordinary learning and networking opportunities for students.

    Lime Connect:http://www.limeconnect.comThe Lime Connect Fellowship Program - our premier, targeted program in the U.S. designed for high-potential current sophomores/rising juniors who happen to have disabilities at leading universities across the country. Lime Connect was founded as a not for profit corporation in March of 2006 to represent a fresh, out-of-the box business approach in the disability talent space. Connect was founded by Bank of America Merrill Lynch and PepsiCo, joined by Google, Target and Goldman Sachs. Following a series of successful pilot events, Lime Connect Canada was founded in May of 2009, and partners include BMO, IBM Canada, RBC and TD. Bank of America, Google and PepsiCo's partnerships provide them with access to the Canada talent pool as well. Our original model was based on the successful efforts directed at other segments of the diversity candidate pool, with Lime Connect hosting metro and campus recruitment events that directly connected our partners to talented students and alumni with disabilities for internship and full time positions.

    MLT - Career Prep Program:http://www.ml4t.org/programs/career-prep/career-prep-experienceIf you are currently a sophomore in college, have strong grades and leadership experience, you should consider Career Prep. Career Prep provides participating undergraduates, Fellows, with the skills and roadmap they need to get on the career fast-track after college. The Career Prep experience runs from junior year of college through the beginning of the senior year of college. Fellows will engage in professional training through virtual coaching, in-person seminars, and an internship. Fellows complete at least one coach call via phone and one assignment per month. In general, Fellows commit an hour per week to Career Prep, depending on assignments.*
