Preface

This document provides instructions for installing the Care Management Framework (CMF)

Version 7.12.

To upgrade the Healthcare Industry Foundation from a prior release, use the document titled

Care Management Framework Upgrade Guide Version 7.12.

Intended Audience

This document assumes that the installer has the following administration skills and

capabilities:

PegaRULES Process Commander (PRPC)

Find and update rule forms

Use PRPC Import / Export utilities

Optionally, work with Windows BAT or Unix SH scripts

Optionally, use the System Management Application

Pre-requisites

Before you begin the CMF installation process, verify that the following prerequisites have

been met.

1. Database

PRPC is installed on one the following databases:

Oracle

MSSQL

DB2

2. Process Commander

Process Commander Version 7.1 ML7 (or above) is installed and verified.

3. Hotfixes

Install hotfixes (if any) from the “Hotfixes” folder of your media.

4. PegaSurvey

PegaSurvey Version 7.1.2 (or above) is installed and verified.

5. Healthcare Industry Foundation

Healthcare Industry Foundation (HCIF) Version 7.12 is installed and verified.

Skip the step to Import HCIF Sample Data Instances, as this release has CMF-

specific samples instances (refer to installation step #2).

Install the Framework

Follow the steps below to install the Care Management Framework.

1. Import CMF Application Bundle

1. Log in to your Process Commander system

(http://hostname:port/prweb/PRServlet) using the following user name

and password:

User Name [email protected]

Password install

2. From the Designer Studio menu, select Application > Distribution >

Import.

3. Select Choose File in the Import Wizard.

4. Find and upload the following file from your distribution media:

\NewInstall\ApplicationBundle\AB_CMF_712_for_Pega_71.jar

5. After the file is uploaded, it is ready to be imported. From the Import wizard,

select the file. Click Next>>.

Note: Do NOT check the Enable advanced mode to provide granular control over the import process check box.

6. Click Next>> to import the JAR file containing rules and other objects. When

the progress bar reaches 100%, the import process has been completed. Verify

that no errors have been reported. Click Done to return to the Designer

Studio Home screen.

2. Import CMF Sample Data

CMF provides sample data instances for commonly referenced objects like

members, providers, claims etc. that are used to visualize business processes

in the Framework.

To install sample data instances, repeat steps 1 to 6 mentioned above to load

the following files from your distribution media in the order shown below:

\Resources\SampleInstances\01_Members_Companies_Payers.jar

\Resources\SampleInstances\02_Providers.jar

\Resources\SampleInstances\03_Plans.jar

\Resources\SampleInstances\04_Authorizations.jar

\Resources\SampleInstances\05_Claims.jar

\Resources\SampleInstances\CommonMedications.jar

\Resources\SampleInstances\NDC_Instances.jar

Note: If sample data instances were installed as part of the

Healthcare Industry Foundation installation, you must first delete the

instances by executing the Delete_Sample_Instances.sql script from the \Resources\SampleInstances\ folder of the CMF media before

installing the CMF Sample Data Instances.

3. Verify Installed Rulesets

The following lists the highest level RuleSet versions loaded by the installation

process. Verify that your system includes these RuleSet versions.

1. Login to the system as:

User Name CMSysAdmin@MyHealthPlan

Password install

2. From the Designer Studio menu, select Application > Structure > RuleSet

Stack.

3. Verify that the following RuleSet versions are listed:

PegaCareTemplates: 07-12-99

PegaClinical: 07-12-99

Post Installation Steps

Follow the steps below to re-index data classes, create PegaCareTemplates ruleset versions, save

CMF configuration settings and restart application server.

1. Re-index Data Instances

Note: CMF ships with a small set of sample data in the code sets. It

is recommended that you repeat the re-indexing step after you have

loaded your own licensed code set data. Additional details on code set maintenance is available in the Healthcare Common Codes

Business Use Case Guide of the Healthcare Industry Foundation

media.

1. Login to the system as:

User Name CMSysAdmin@MyHealthPlan

Password install

2. From the Designer Studio menu, select System > Settings > Search.

3. Update the Index Node Settings with information applicable to your system

4. In the Index Administration section, select ‘Enable Indexing’, and check ‘All Data’

Index Type.

5. Click on Re-index button for the ‘All Data’ Index Type

6. In the Re-Indexing window, select the ‘Only Classes Listed Below’ option

7. Add the following Data Classes and click OK to start re-indexing.

2. Create PegaCareTemplates ruleset version:

1. Click on application and launch open application.

2. Select PegaCareTemplates ruleset from Application rulesets.

3. Create a new Ruleset version ‘PegaCareTemplates: 07-12-02’.

4. Update the PegaClinical ruleset version 07-12-01

3. Save CMF Configuration Settings

1. From the Designer Studio menu, select CMF Config Page.

2. Click Save on the CMF Config Page to save the application settings.

Note: The CMF Config page will save the default application settings

as shipped with your framework. Refer to the CMF Implementation

Guide available on your media for details on modifying these settings when you begin your implementation.

4. Restart the Application Server

1. Log out of PRPC. Clear the cache from PRPC, stop and start the application server.

Validate the Installation

Complete the following steps to validate the successful installation of the Care Management

Framework.

1. Login to the system as:

User Name CareManager@MyHealthPlan

Password install

2. Select Patient from the Search menu on your portal.

3. Verify that your system displays the Search Patient screen with a list of 10 pre-

configured sample patient instances as seen below:

4. Click on the Customer ID for Jean Weiss

5. System displays the patient composite as shown below

6. Click on the Cases tab and select Care Management from the Add case menu to

initiate a new case for the patient

7. Enter / select Care Management Case metadata as follows to add a new Diabetes

case.

8. Review the newly created Adult Diabetes case. Expand the case tree nodes to see a

new care plan and tasks automatically generated.

You have successfully validated the installation.

Refer to the Care Management Framework Business Use Case Guide for additional

information on managing the case.
