Video S1: Beating EB derived from a liquid marble. Oct4B2-ESC were allowed to aggregate inside

liquid marbles to form EBs for 7 days. The EBs were transferred to a low adhesion dish, when

beating activity was observed 8 hours later.

Video S2: Contracting foci in a plated-down EB. Oct4B2-ESC were allowed to form EBs inside

liquid marbles for 5 days; beating activity was observed in an EB that was plated down after

another 4 days.

Video S3: Contracting foci in a plated-down EB. Oct4B2-ESC were allowed to form EBs inside

liquid marbles for 5 days; beating activity was observed in an EB that was plated down after a

further 7 days.
