JEFF BAUMANN ANNUAL CARDBOARD CANOE RACE RULES FRIDAY, JULY 17, 2015 • 6 – 7:30 p.m.

How it Works: Participants can choose to build their craft ahead of time or on-site at the event. Teams should register by filling out a registration form and mailing it or dropping it off at DeWitt Township (see address below). It is strongly recommended that teams register by Thursday, July 2, 2015. Registration is limited to the first 20 teams. Both on-site and off-site build teams must check in by 6 p.m. in the East Parking Lot of Granger Meadows Park. Off-site build canoes will be on display while on-site building takes place. After on-site building is finished, all teams will transport their canoes to the Koi Pond for the races. All races will be conducted in timed heats, with the winners determined by the best time. (Please note boats that sink will receive a two minute time penalty.) The most creative boat in the off-site build category will also receive a prize. The event includes basic supplies and a prize for each member of the championship teams. The winning on-site build team’s name will also be displayed on a plaque at the DeWitt Township Hall. On-Site Build Rules:

• Each team will consist of two to four people. At least one person on the team must be 18 years or older. Individuals paddling the boat must be at least 12 years of age (with a signed parental waiver if under 18).
