ABOUT CAPTURING HOPE

BEFORE THE SESSION

Part of the custom experience in booking Capturing Hope Photography is that I help you design and

plan the details of you session. I call this the design process because we are creating an experience,

not just taking snapshots. My sessions are not thrown together carelessly. This process is important

because we will not only discuss locations and dates, but also outfits and special items you want to

incorporate into your portraits. Together, we will make your session a memorable experience.

Designing Your Session

At this point, hopefully we have chatted and you feel that I am the right photographer for you! The

next step is for us to set up your complimentary consultation meeting. At this meeting, we will

discuss my policies, start designing your session, and collect the deposit to reserve your desired

session date. The $75.00 deposit is non-refundable and is applied towards the total session fee.

The remaining balance of $125.00 is due the day of your session. We will also set a date to preview

and order your portraits, which will take place two weeks after your session.

WHAT TO WEAR

Large, busy prints, checkered patterns & geometric designs don’t photograph well. You should

also stay away from large logos. Bright reds, greens, and oranges can cast their colors on your skin.

Also, all white clothing is not the most flattering color and can cause unwanted bright spots.

It’s a great idea to plan the outfits 2 weeks before the session. Lay them out on a bed, step back and

take a look. Once you’re happy with your choices, make sure they are clean and wrinkle-free, then

set them aside for your session. Don’t forget about shoes and the most overlooked item... the socks!

YYes, the socks are important...(the color). This will lower your stress level on session day! If you’re

still not sure about your choices, feel free to email me or text me a picture of your outfits!

What to Avoid

•••

I have created a board on Pinterest to help guide

you with ideas. You can click to my profile by

going to my website, capturinghope.com. But I

will share some tips with you here.

Clothing should be simple and timeless. Favorites

are jeans, khaki colored pants, white, black or

neutneutral colored shirts, sundresses, gowns, hats

and bare feet. My general rule of thumb is to pick

three colors that complement each other with one

color being a “pop” color. For instance, if you like a

neutral palate, you could do light brown, grey, and

then a pop of blue!

THE SESSION

This is where the magic happens! At this point, hopefully you feel prepared and excited about your

custom session. The session fee covers my time photographing your session and editing your final

images. The total fee for these services is $200. As explained in the booking section on the second

page, a deposit is collected prior to your session to reserve your date.

I want your session to be the best experience possible! Getting a good night sleep the day before or

getting a nap the day of is so important to keep the grumpy faces away! Please plan to arrive a few

minutes early to your session. Do not hesitate to call me if you are running late or need to reviewminutes early to your session. Do not hesitate to call me if you are running late or need to review

directions with me. I don’t want you to feel rushed. I highly recommend bringing snacks and water

in case children get hungry or thirsty. Maybe even for yourself! Do not worry about your kids being

too shy or too wild. We will have fun either way! Typically I like to start the session with casual

posing and just try to get everyone to relax. We both don’t want cheesy smiles.

DO NOT bring chocolate, gum, or bright colored candy. Chocolate could melt and gum will stay in

their mouths for too long. The best candy I can recommend are Smarties or Sweethearts. Anything

else could leave residue on teeth and lips! else could leave residue on teeth and lips!

REMEMBER: Bring any props or accessories you wanted to use, the remaining balance of your

session fee, wipes or Kleenex!
