Dear Officers and Members: It is unfortunate that my report this month it's going to be reporting on my absence. I have a great job opportunity in Georgia and South Carolina as a Regional Manager bringing up the 5G network for Sprint. I will miss you guys and cannot wait to get back to see everyone and to resume my role at the lodge. I would like to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to each and every one of you. Elks share because we care. Fraternally Yours, Chris Heard

Dear Brothers and Sisters, Happy New Year to everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday Season! Welcome back fellow Elk members who have been away visiting loved ones. Happy everyone had safe travels to and fro. There are many exciting events scheduled at our lodge these up coming months. Please check your calendar for dates and times, or stop by the lodge and read the bulletin board. Stay a while and enjoy a meal, drink and company of other fellow Elk members and their quests.

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

Happy New Year!

What a great New Year’s Eve Gala! After a wonderful dinner, we had a great time dancing to the music. Thank you to all those that were able to share the night with us.

The holiday season was eventful over the past couple months, all the members should proud about the donations the lodge was able to make again this year.

Congratulations to the Elks Lodge 2190, joined by the U.S. Sea Cadets, for reaching out to the community with an entry in this years Chatsworth Holi-

day Parade. The U.S. Sea Cadets presentation was outstanding; they received 1st place in Marching. Our Elks Lodge 2190 float also received 1st place in the Floats category.

A new year has begun; we hope you are able to show your support again this year by attending as many events as you can because your participation truly makes a world of difference. And if you find you have not been to a lodge for some time, stop in and say hello.

Fraternally Yours, Jeff Mackie

Oh What A Difference We Made!

Our fundraising of food and toys made a huge difference in the lives of 39 families and seniors living

within 3 miles of our Lodge! We made it happen across 4 events:

Saturday 12/14: Winter Dance chaired by Cheryl K - attendees brought cans of food and made

monetary donations. It provided the foundation of our effort- plus we had great food, great music with

everyone up and dancing the evening away.

Wednesday 12/18: It was massive food shopping day. Dave, Midge, Scott, Les, Marina, Randy, Bruce,

Linda were dispatched with lists of food to be purchased: bread, eggs, potatoes, fresh carrots, onions,

jelly (to go with the peanut butter) hams, chickens, milk, and supplemental canned food and pastas.

All this was paid for through the money raised at the winter dance.

Friday 12/20: Robyn, Blayne, Ruth, Steve, Sheryl, Rosalie, Celeste, and Cheryl with assistance from

Kerry and Joe, all pitched in as we made 85 bags of candy, wrapped 92 presents, assembled cards for

the baskets. A huge thanks to Marina for obtaining more needed toy donations and picking them up.

Saturday 12/21: The big day. We assembled the baskets (really boxes) of food and toys for the

families and seniors. Each ‘basket’ included staples to carry the recipient into the new year, plus all the

items needed for a great holiday dinner. We had wrapped toys for all the children. After an all-out

effort by Cheryl, Scott, Marina, Bruce, Jim, Donna, Dave, Midge, Bill, Gayle, Matt, Ruth, Les, Cathy,

Ruth, Ron, Rosemary, Jeannie, and Mike boxes were filled and organized for delivery. Jim & Donna

said they’d drop off boxes for a family on their way home- little did they know their SUV barely held all

the boxes for a family of 9! We had a single mother of 3 pick up our donation at the lodge, she left

crying, she was so thankful for the food donation, Bruce told the story of arriving at a house, the father

answered the door with an infant in his arms, and little girl dancing around his legs- excited about the

presents and food he was delivering- the father said thank you over and over again- it made a huge

difference for his family.

On behalf of our Lodge a Special thanks to Councilman Bob Blumenfeld for coming out and assisting

us, Los Toros Mexican Restaurant, Anytime Fitness, and the Chatsworth Kiwanis club for providing the

wonderful donation of toys for this year’s community gift box’s.

Our lodge does many wonderful charitable works throughout the year- the same week we were working

on the food baskets another 2190 Lodge team was busy assembling many gifts for the veterans and

delivering them in person- these acts of kindness in our community– should make all of us proud to be a

member of this lodge and a part of Elkdom. I know I am!

My personal thanks to the team for enhancing the lives of 39 families and seniors this holiday time,

Jo Lamoreaux - President PER Association

Emblem Club Christmas Party

On Wednesday, December 11th, the Emblem Club 3360 held their annual Christmas Party in the dining room of the Canoga Park Elks Lodge. It was very well attended and everyone had a great time. The party was highlighted by a “Consumable Gift Exchange” where food items, whether store bought or home made were given as gifts rather than the traditional “STUFF.” The gift exchange was done by a ticket drawing with “One Steal” allowed.
