COURSE DESCRIPTION: This two day comprehensive course, held at NorthStar VETS, will combine ample hands-on laboratory time and lecture for the veterinarian, teaching important techniques in surgical extraction of firmly rooted teeth, with a focus on flap extractions of maxillary and mandibular canine teeth, maxillary fourth premolar teeth and mandibular first molar teeth. Also, oral surgery nerve blocks will be taught in laboratory as well as dental radiograph positioning and radiograph interpretation. Emphasizing the importance of a team approach in dentistry for your practice, a technician track will also be offered, which will include some of the same lectures offered in the veterinarian track. In addition, our veterinary technicians will offer technician-centric lectures on popular topics in dentistry and anesthesia. Wet lab topics for the technician track are focused on empowering technical staff, including oral examination, dental radiography, dental charting, and components of the professional dental cleaning. Technicians are also encouraged to take part in the nerve block wet laboratory. This Wet Lab has been approved by RACE for a total of 12 Continuing Education hours. CaNCEllaTION POlICy: In the event of a cancellation you may send a substitute from your practice. Due to the limited number of spaces available requests for full refunds will be honored only if received at least 21 calendar days prior to the start of the Wet Lab. A partial 75% refund will be issued for all requests received 14 days before the beginning of the Wet Lab. No refunds will be granted for cancellations made less than 7 days prior to the Wet Lab. All requests must be received in writing. In the unlikely event that the Wet Lab is cancelled or postponed due to insufficient enrollments or unforeseen circumstances, we will fully refund registration fees but cannot be held responsible for any other expenses, including cancellation or change charges assessed by airlines, hotels, travel agencies, or other organizations.
