Candal

CandalA village persisting in timeA relatively new shop is open for visitors and inhabitants of the village. The shop is not only a meeting point of the village community but also promotes the humble creations of the artists living close by.

Water acted as a catalyst for the growth of the hisoric village during the 17th century. The citizens used water for their crops and goats.

The cream-yellow house seems somewhat different when compared with the rest of the buildings which are composed entirely of schist rocks. A local named Marta Correia informed us that such houses were built by richer people resulting in the economical development of the area.

The rocky pathways allow visitors to walk through the village with great convinience.

The unique architecture of the village in the picture above transports all who distinguish it in a place once eminent.
