Hereditary CancersCancer is common, affecting about 1 out of every 3 people in their lifetime. In a small but important number of cases (5-10%), the cancer is due to a genetic change that is being passed down in the family.

Individuals with an increased risk of developing cancer due to hereditary factors may benefit from additional screening, surveillance, and other risk reducing strategies.

Our cancer screening and prevention program offers comprehensive cancer risk assessments and risk reduction strategies to individuals who are found to have a higher risk for cancer due to hereditary or genetic factors.
