The CPIEAs

INTRODUCTION

We should all have an interest in international

education. According to a Canadian Bureau of

International Education (CBIE) report the number of

“internationally mobile” students in 2014 was 5 million,

with this number expected to reach 7 million by 2022.

IMPACT

In Canada, approximately $8 billion is derived annually

from international student expenditures, while also

creating over 81,000 jobs and generating more than

$445 million in government revenue, according to the

CBIE.

IMPORTANCE

The economic benefits are clear, but there are

others. Global Affairs Canada states, “By engaging in

international education, Canada advances its own

public diplomacy goals and prosperity while supporting

the growth of the global knowledge economy.”

FIRST OF ITS KIND

It’s against this multi-layered backdrop of education,

culture and economics that the Canadian Premier

International Education Awards (CPIEAs) were born.

ThE CPIEA VISION AND MISSION

With a vision of “A World Where Education is Valued

and Celebrated,” and a mission “To Recognize the

People Who Make Education Their Mission,” the

CPIEAs highlight the efforts and dedication of those

effecting positive change in the industry.

hOW ThE CPIEAS WORK

The CPIEAs recognize Awardees and Winners in seven

categories.

Group One

Awardees are selected by the CPIEAs committee and

approved by an independent judging panel after

extensive research into their programs, policies and

activities. Recipients are awarded according to their

participation and initiatives in global education.

Group Two

The CPIEAs are proving to have a deep spirit of

generosity through their Student Category. Each year, the

four Gold winners of Group Three select four deserving

students to receive educational scholarships to study

abroad. Through this category the CPIEAs are giving back

and remain dedicated to transforming, lives, forever.

Group Three

Recruiters are divided into four tiers:

Agency of the Year (10 or More Educational Consultants)

Small Agency of the Year (5-9 Educational Consultants)

Dynamic Agency of the Year (1-4 Educational Consultants)

New Agency of the Year (2-5 Years in Business)

These four tiers are selected through an extensive

application and judging process. The Gold, Silver

and Bronze winners of the above four tiers are then

announced at the annual CPIEAs gala.
