TORONTO - The "F" is 10 this year, and to celebrate, Lexus intro- duces an exclusive anniversary edition of the RC F high-perfor- mance luxury coupe as par t of its 2019 model line-up. The RC F has been tested - and proven - on some of the world's most chal- lenging race circuits. This includes its home track of Fuji Speed- way in Japan, which is the source of this sedan's "F" designation. Under the hood, relentless, no compromise engineering produced the heart of a lion: A naturally aspirated 5.0 litre V8 that delivers 467 peak horsepower, up to 389 lb-ft of torque, and a heartfelt tone that ranges from a throaty growl to a mighty roar. This per- formance-driven engine switches between Atkinson and Otto cycles to maximize power, torque and efficiency. To drive the rear wheels, it's mated to an equally motivated transmission: a uniquely tuned eight-speed Sport Direct Shift transmission. To keep the driver fully engaged with the road, the RC F sports a highly rigid body with large cross-section rocker panels and a stiff front lower brace. This works in concert with the RC F's Adaptive Variable Suspension systems, which automatically and independently adjust the performance damping at each wheel de- pending on road surface and driving style. The result is excep- tional levels of control. OTTAWA - Statistics released by The Canadian Real Estate Associa- tion (CREA) show national home sales were up from May to June 2018. Highlights: " National home sales rose 4.1% from May to June. " Actual (not seasonally adjusted) activity was down 10.7% from June 2017 . " The number of newly listed homes eased 1.8% from May to June. " The MLS® Home Price Index (HPI) in June was up 0.9% year-over- year (y-o-y). " The national average sale price edged down 1.3% y-o-y in June. National home sales via Canadian MLS® Systems rose 4.1% in June 2018 compared to May. While this marks the first substantive month- over-month increase this year, sales remain well down from monthly levels recorded over the past five years. More than 60% of all local housing markets reported increased sales activity in June compared to May, led by the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). By contrast, sales in British Columbia continue to moderate. Actual (not seasonally adjusted) activity was down almost 11% com- pared to June 2017. Sales marked a five-year low and stood almost 7% below the 10-year average for the month of June. Activity came in below year-ago levels in about two-thirds of all local markets, led overwhelmingly by those in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. "This year's new stress-test on mortgage applicants has been weigh- ing on homes sales activity; however, the increase in June suggests its impact may be starting to lift," said CREA President Barb Sukkau. "The extent to which the stress-test continues to sideline home buy- ers varies by housing market and price range. All real estate is local, and Realtors® remain your best source for information about sales and listings where you live or might like to in the future," said Sukkau. The number of newly listed homes retreated 1.8% in June, and also stood below levels for the month in recent years. New listings de- clined in a number of large urban markets, including those in Brit- ish Columbia's Lower Mainland, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa and Montreal. With sales up and new listings down, the national sales- to-new listings ratio tightened to 54.3% in June compared to 51.2% in May. The June reading was within short reach of the long-term average of 53.4%. Consideration of the degree and duration to which market balance readings are above or below their long-term average is a useful way to gauge whether local housing market conditions favour buyers or sellers. Market balance measures that are within one standard deviation of their long-term average are generally consistent with balanced market conditions. Based on a comparison of the sales-to- new listings ratio with its long-term average, about two-thirds of all local markets were in balanced market territory in June 2018. SYDNEY, (IANS) Newborn babies who are born with a high level of an immune-related protein in their blood cells are less likely to develop malaria throughout their early childhood, a study revealed. The research showed that babies born with a high level of a cer- tain type of immunity proteins cytokine, known as IL-12, in their umbilical cord blood had a higher resistance to the development of malaria in the first two years of their life. "The finding suggests that there is a strong link between levels of this IL-12 protein obtained from the umbilical cord blood and the development of malaria in early childhood," said lead author Yong Song, from Curtin University in Australia. With more than 90 per cent of ma- laria infections occurring in sub-Saharan Africa, childhood ma- laria remains one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortal- ity, resulting in 500,000 deaths annually. The team also investi- gated how newborn babies develop high levels of IL-12 in the cord blood. "We found that the inbred quantity of these small proteins was not only influenced by children and mother's genetic varia- tion, but was also dependent on the immune system conditions of the mother during pregnancy," Song noted.

InBollywood, actresses like Sonam K Ahuja and Kangana Ranauthave fallen for its allure. While Mrs Ahuja opted for a puff-sleevednumber as she promoted Veere Di Wedding, Kangana was seen in acollared gingham check print style. We ask exper ts on how to rockthis old-world-inspired closet essential...FABULOUS OFF-DUTYFall Winter 2018 collections see a litany of field hand style num-bers, which work well with athleisure essentials. Designer Nishka Lullasays, “It’s wearable and feminine and one can team it up with a pair of pumps. For a cool off-duty look, pair it with sneakers. The puff or leg-of-mutton sleevesdetails look interesting and it’s a great take on the vintage style.”

WHEN OLD IS NEW

Veere Di Wedding might have received backlash for women mouth-ing abuses and its sexual references, but the film surely gave usmany ‘goals’. Remember Kareena Kapoor Khan’s unique weddingdress from the film" an off-shoulder, embellished, yellow lehenga...Yes, that lehenga was a 25-year-old lehenga for real! In the film’splot too, it was Kalindi’s (name of the character that Kareena played)mother’s lehenga that she gave a fresh spin to, and wore it for herown wedding.Even before the movie, many new-age brides had been followingthe trend " if not for the wedding ceremony itself, but for anotherfunction, or just to add a heirloom to her trousseau collection. Thisis done by revamping the garment and transferring the originalwork. We asked some city-based designers on how they reuseolder works and the kind of requests they get from clients.ENVIRONMENT & POCKET-FRIENDLYKusum and Karishma Luharuwala, of Label Faabiiana share withAFTERhrs, “Bridal lehenga is usually the most expensive attire ofyour wedding and it can be reused in a lot of ways. For example, make an anarkali from your used lehenga or use the blouse withanother saree. Also if it’s torn or ripped off, patches can be used to

make shor t dresses or a hair band, bag and other accessories.”She adds, “We get inquiries by clients on how can their old real zarisarees be reused. First of all, it is environmental-friendly and sec-ondly, pocket-friendly too. It keeps those memories from the trea-sure trove of your grandmother or mother intact. So it can be usedby transferring the patch work on to a new saree or a half-half sareecan be created with those age-old beautiful dupattas. Even oldsarees can be transferred to create a contemporary and chic look.”THE ‘ROYAL’ OUTFITSThe trend of using older works is not entirely new. Mostly, it is toreuse the original silver and gold that have been put to use in bridaloutfits, such as rajputi poshaaks. Many city designers have beenputting those works to use again in their outfits. Designer ArunaSingh explains, “We transfer the work usually when people haveoriginal silver or gold work in their outfits, so that they can proudlysay that it is made of silver! But, since the fabric gets spoiled, weneed to transfer the whole work by tracing it.” She adds, “At thesame time, we also need to check the originality of the old work.Usually, it is people from royal families who don’t wish to put theirold heavy outfits to waste and get the work transferred.”

Here is how over-controllingparenting can negatively

affect your child

Dear parents, take note! Over-controlling parenting, accord-ing to a study, can negatively affect your kid's ability tomanage his or her emotions and behaviour."Our research showed that children with helicopter parentsmay be less able to deal with the challenging demands ofgrowing up, especially with navigating the complex schoolenvironment," said Nicole B. Perr y, lead author of the study."Children who cannot regulate their emotions and behavioureffectively are more likely to act out in the classroom, tohave a harder time making friends and to struggle in school."Children rely on caregivers for guidance and understandingof their emotions. They need parents who are sensitive totheir needs, who recognise when they are capable of man-aging a situation and who will guide them when emotionalsituations become too challenging. This helps children develop the ability to handle challengingsituations on their own as they grow up, and leads to bettermental and physical health, healthier social relationshipsand academic success.Managing emotions and behaviour are fundamental skillsthat all children need to learn and over-controlling parentingcan limits those oppor tunities, according to Per ry.The researchers followed the same 422 children over thecourse of eight years and assessed them at ages 2, 5 and10, as par t of a study of social and emotional development.During the observations, the research team asked the par-ents and children to play as they would at home."Helicopter parenting behaviour we saw included parentsconstantly guiding their child by telling him or her what toplay with, how to play with a toy, how to clean up af terplaytime and being too strict or demanding," said Per r y."The kids reacted in a variety of ways. Some became defi-ant, others were apathetic and some showed frustration."Over-controlling parenting when a child was 2 was associ-ated with poorer emotional and behavioural regulation atage 5, the researchers found. Conversely, the greater a child'semotional regulation at age 5, the less likely he or she wasto have emotional problems and the more likely he or shewas to have better social skills and be more productive inschool at age 10.Similarly, by age 10, children with better impulse controlwere less likely to experience emotional and social prob-lems and were more likely to do better in school."Children who developed the ability to effectively calm them-selves during distressing situations and to conduct them-selves appropriately had an easier time adjusting to theincreasingly difficult demands of preadolescent school en-vironments," said Per ry."Our findings underscore the impor tance of educating of tenwell-intentioned parents about suppor ting children's au-tonomy with handling emotional challenges."Perry suggested that parents can help their children learn tocontrol their emotions and behaviour by talking with themabout how to understand their feelings and by explainingwhat behaviours may result from feeling cer tain emotions,as well as the consequences of different responses. Thenparents can help their children identify positive coping strat-egies, like deep breathing, listening to music, coloring orretreating to a quiet space.

NOT SINGLE, BUT LONELY!While some people frown on singledom, it makes more sense tobe footloose and fancy, than restrained and miserable in a dysfunc-tional relationship. It not only restricts your freedom, but traps youin an emotional black hole that gets harder to get out of with eachpassing day. A dysfunctional/toxic relationship can be characterisedas an unhealthy relationship where both par tners are constantly atloggerheads with each other. They don’t support each other emo-tionally, and there’s a breakdown of communication with both par t-ners maintaining a front of coupledom for society but existing inisolation when alone.SIGNS OF DYSFUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPSBattling on your own --— If you feel lost in the relationship, and seeyour partner as an adversary rather than a team player. It’s the firstsign that you are not in a happy, stable relationship. And while youmay want to believe that things will get better or he or she will turna new leaf, that’s far from true.Feeling trapped — If you feel helpless, and restrained in a relation-ship, and like there’s no way out. It’s clearly a sign to get out andget help.Negatively impacted — Do you feel like you are the punching bagand are constantly bombarded with negative feedback? Then youshould not continue in a such a relationship as it will eventuallytake a toll on your mental and physical well-being.QUIZ YOURSELF TO FIND THE RIGHT ANSWERSPsychiatrist Dr Hemant Mittal says, “When you are in a dysfunc-tional relationship, it makes you question and doubt yourself, yourabilities and decisions. It makes you feel helpless and that’s whenyou feel you are alone, battling issues on your own rather than asa team.” He emphasises that one can’t help but ask themselvesthree questions at this point — How many adjustments should Imake? Why is everyone else happy and why is my relationshipbad? Do I feel trapped and am I supposed to live like this? These queries and comparisons with other seemingly happycouples causes frustration, leads to overthinking, sadness anddepression. It eventually results in a state of loneliness thatone feels powerless in.

WATCH OUT MILLENNIAL MOMS-TO-BE

We live in a technologically advanced era characterised by conve-nience, which has made life simpler but still life is not that easy, especially for the millennials. And now, a study drives this point home, saying that pregnant millennial women are facing much more diffi-culties due to fast-paced and pressures of social media. What research saysA study conducted on young women by scientists at Bristol Univer-sity, UK, found mental health problems during pregnancy are 51 percent more likely than they were a generation ago. It’s social mediaand the pace of modern life that are driving up rates of depression andanxiety in mothers-to-be, they found.Researchers studied 2,390 pregnant women aged between 19 and 24from 1990 to 1992, and then repeated the procedure with 180 of theirdaughters who were pregnant between 2012 and 2016. They foundrates of depression and anxiety rose from 17 per cent in the first groupto 25 per cent in the second. The study concluded, “The impact of such changes may be amplifiedwhen a woman becomes pregnant. This generation of young womenhas also experienced rapid change in technology, internet, and socialmedia use, which has been associated with increased feelings ofdepression, social isolation and changes to social relationships.”Anxiety and depression quite common among pregnant women“One in every four women I meet going through pregnancy have de-pressive or anxiety symptoms. The age group varies from late 20s tolate 30s. Majority of these women are working, from middle class toupper middle class background, but I guess that is also because theycan afford to seek help,” says Mansi Hasan, clinical psychologistand psychotherapist, tobacco treatment specialist.A decade ago, numbers were less than halfThe numbers are definitely on the rise. About a decade ago, they wereless than half, says gynaecologist Suman Bijlani, who refers aboutfour to five pregnant women per month to a counsellor/ psychiatristfor anxiety and depression.Fast-paced lifeThe ratio is definitely higher and the causes could range from access

to a lot of information on the internet, which raises speculations anddiffering opinions and hence, becoming one’s own doctor, to adaptinglifestyle, which is quite fast-paced, informs Dr Anjali Chhabria, psy-chiatrist and psychotherapist. “There is the stress of various thingsthese days which might lead to anxiety and mood fluctuations, eatinghabits and increased sedentary lifestyle might also be contributingfactors to the raising number,” she adds.Superwoman SyndromeOne of the reasons for the increase in depression and anxiety amongpregnant women is the Superwoman Syndrome, explains Hasan. Theywant to manage it all — work, home, hectic schedules and just notwanting to compromise on any of them. Hormonal changes, lack ofsuppor t system due to nuclear family, managing job and the houseplus a pregnancy can get become a bit too much. Women are con-stantly juggling and this can lead to feelings of loneliness, depressionand anxiety.Pregnant women face additional stress as women have always beenmultitasking — managing home, career and relationships. However, today’s woman wants to work on her looks and fitness too, saysBijlani. “When she becomes pregnant, she rightly wants to give preg-nancy her best shot which is often difficult. Women often work longhours leaving no time for rest or exercise. Also, pregnancy demandssmall adjustments like frequent and healthy meals, or avoiding stand-ing for prolonged periods, just putting your legs up during the day fora few minutes if they are swollen or dealing with morning sickness orbackache. Long hours of travel, stress at work, sitting at computersfor long, all of these strain the body and mind,” she adds.TIPS FOR PREGNANT WOMENMansi Hasan shares the following advice:Enjoy your pregnancy: By that, I don’t mean stay in bed and only thinkabout being pregnant. Prioritiseyourself. Do as much as you can.Don’t let the fears and guilt take over. You will have a flourishing career andwill fit into your old pair of jeans again. But for now, make this journey enjoy-able.Say ‘no’: Say not just to others buteven yourself when you are pushingyourself too hard.‘Me’ time: Do things that make youhappy, feel fit, eat right, sleep well, pamper yourself, dress up look goodand get some ‘me’ time.Reduce the workload: If you’re work-ing, don’t stop but don’t take on morethan you can manage. Reduce yourworkload. There’s no harm in slow-ing down. Ask your husband, familyand friends for help.Seek help: Please seek counsellingif you are feeling overwhelmed. Talktherapy is extremely helpful to reduceanxiety and feelings of sadness.

Autumn-Winter 2018: Thepalate-cleansing couture

It’s rather intriguing how haute couture throws up a fusillade ofalchemical-marries-ephemeral surprises season after season.Sometimes bourgeois elegance makes way for radical streetand it’s not uncommon to see statement feathers creating spacefor plissé pleats. Perhaps this remarkable volte-face makesfashion such an exciting study. If Christian Dior’s Spring 2017show under the aegis of the talented Maria Grazia Chiuri cel-ebrated fencers and feminists, her Autumn-Winter 2018 outinghad a strong nod to old world elegance and a quiet restraint. Herlitany of pleated dresses in matte duchesse and crepe under-scored the sublime craf tsmanship of the atelier. And this was noexception. Givenchy’s moving tribute to their founder — the lateHuber t de Givenchy recreated the timeless Audrey Hepburnmagic from some of her iconic films. Karl Lager feld too sent outthe Chanel bride (essayed beautifully by Adut Akech) dressed inmuted tweed minus the floor-sweeping train one usually asso-ciates with grand finale outfits. So is it safe to deduce that — ishaute couture back to embracing classic elegance and simplic-ity? Is it couture’s retor t to the all-pervading street style? Or isthe couture client the ultimate queen? We invited a distinguishedpanel to discuss...CLIENT IS THE QUEENDesigner Monisha Jaising observes that haute couture by far ismoving towards femininity and she attributes it to the fact that inour daily lives, fashion is all about gender fluidity. “I guess that’swhy when a woman now gets a chance to wear couture, shetends to favour elegance. The couture client is definitely theQueen! After the Second World War too, there was a return tofemininity, Christian Dior emphasised on the hour glass silhou-ette, which was actually so contrary to Post War sentiments thatwoman should go back home and to house work. So yes, it couldbe a response to the ‘street cred overdose’, for haute couturehas always tended to go in the total opposite direction,” saysMonisha.BACK TO BASICSWe are living in an age where everything is fast-paced from thetouch screen of our phones to our office biometrics and guess,it’s fashion’s way of saying — ‘calm down’. FDCI columnistAsmita Aggarwal observes, “The world is moving at a dizzyingspeed and there is a need to slow down and go back to thebasics. That’s why you see a return to femininity and classics. There are always two ways to react —— one is what ChristianDior did after the war — created the New Look in 1947, with thecinched waist and the billowing skir t, when using so much fab-ric was forbidden. He was severely criticised almost ostracisedfrom the fashion world for his unruly extravagance.

Melania Trump nails the fish gape

VIBRANT HUES ON YOUR SKIN

She is one of the most photographed women in the world. And well aware of the fact that cameras arerecording her every move, Melania Trump, First Lady and wife of US President Donald Trump, has herpose down pat. The former model and socialite rarely breaks into a smile. Instead, while posing, she par tsher lips ever so slightly in what is known as the fish gape. The term is coined after the underwater animalswho have their mouths slightly open at all times as they gasp for air. It is a favourite with models andactors as it gives the poser a sultry look making one’s pout appear bigger. The ‘gape’ involves tilting theface downwards, sucking in the cheeks and opening the mouth a little while keeping the tongue on the roofof the mouth. It works just as well for selfies, too.BEEN AROUND FOR A WHILEFor the First Lady, this has been her go-to pose since her modelling days. More recently, during a galadinner in London with President Trump, she was snapped looking radiant in a yellow caped J Mendel gownwhile flaunting the fish gape. Another popular facial expression of Melania is the squinch, which impliessquinting the eyes a little to give an aura of confidence.Celebrity photographer Subi Samuel says the fish gape is like old wine in a new bottle. “It has been aroundfor years with stars using it in photo shoots to look sexy. It had gone out for a bit but is now back with abang. It has a huge appeal. While one can have a blank facial expression, the parted lips make the modellook more sensuous. I personally prefer it to the duck face which was popular in between,” he says.INTERACTIVE FEELThe fish gape has been mastered by international models and celebrities, too. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley knows her bee-stung pout is her best asset and often plays it up by adopting this pose. Aquick look at the Instagram accounts of Kaia Gerber, Kylie Jenner and Hailey Baldwin also revealtheir preference for this facial pose. Celebrity photographer Dabboo Ratnani explains that oftenrather than keeping the mouth locked, he asks models to keep it slightly open. “It appears like he orshe is almost talking to the camera.MORE RELAXED FEELThe gape is an easy way to make your face look slimmer and take the focus away from any fine lines.Celebrity photographer Vikram Bawa says he always tells his models not to keep their mouth shut tootightly as it looks unnatural. “This is a more relaxed stance. But it may not suit everyone. It’s better forthose with slightly wider teeth. A relaxed open mouth look is ideal for a seductive image,” he explains, adding that it should come naturally.

With World Tattoo Day yesterday, there’s no better time to get inked. And if you want something different from the conventional black andgrey shaded artwork, look no further than watercolour tattoos.Enhance An Old TattooIndians really like colour. At times clients come in specifi-cally for enhancing their old tattoos, says Vikas Malani, celebrity tattoo ar tist and co-founder, Body Canvas Tattoos.“For some of the tattoos, the most we can do as enhance-ment is adding the watercolour effect (a dash of colour to aboring black and gray tattoo) that changes the look of itcompletely. Also, clients do come in asking specifically forwatercolour tattoos, however, these are not possible on verypigmented skin as the hues don’t look the same,” explainsVikas. He finds that there’s mainly a demand for geometricpatterns, flowers and mandalas as designs. Not Suitable For EveryoneWatercolour tattoos though done in a similar style to regu-lar ones require a lot of pre-planning for the design process. They tend to look a little more feminine and as a result morewomen want this style. Sunny Bhanushali, founder and tat-too ar tist, Aliens Tattoo Studio mentions that this techniquerequires a more skilled tattoo ar tist. Preferably with an ar-tistic background and a good amount of work experience.“Watercolour tattoos work best on fairer skin tones. Weavoid doing it on medium dark to very dark skin tones. Ourskin and the pigments within play a major role in the outputof the colour,” he warns. Results Can DifferThis tattoo style has been picking up quite a bit of late, findsJ’son D’souza, proprietor, Tatau tattoo studio. It is also aversatile option as any art work can be given a watercolour splash.“When opting for a coloured tattoo, whether watercolour or a regularone, the results can differ based on the individual’s skin. Some peoplecarry it off well, while with others it fades faster. Shades of red, orange and yellow show up well on those with wheatishskin, while lighter skin has more colour options,” he says, adding that it’s advisable to get these done on body par tsless exposed to sunlight such as the chest, back and leg asthey retain colour longer.

DON’T POP SUPPLEMENTS RANDOMLYSome of us are in the habit of taking vitamin supplements either because we don’t consume ahealthy diet of fresh fruits and vegetables or regularly end up skipping meals due to work sched-ules or simply because we want to enhance our overall health. Some people have been takingvarious supplements for years now. A recent study says concluded that taking vitamin supple-ments doesn’t prevent cardiovascular problems. We asked exper ts for their take on the matter.WHAT RESEARCH SAYSAnalysing information from 18 previously published studies, this new study examined the linkbetween multivitamins and mineral supplements and the risk of cer tain cardiovascular problems, suggests that vitamin and mineral supplements do nothing to prevent hear t disease. The re-searchers tracked over two million people in five countries for an average of 12 years, andconcluded that multivitamins did not prevent hear t attacks, strokes, or death from heart disease.Study lead author Dr Joonseok Kim said, “It has been exceptionally difficult to convince people...to acknowledge that multivitamin and mineral supplements don’t prevent cardiovascular dis-eases.” He added, “I hope our study findings help decrease the hype around multivitamin and mineral supple-ments and encourage people to use proven methods to reduce their risk of cardiovascular diseases — such aseating more fruits and vegetables, exercising and avoiding tobacco.”PEOPLE HAVE BEEN POPPING MULTIVITAMINSSo do our cardiology experts agree with the findings of the study? “It is very hard to convincepeople as for the last two to three decades they have been popping these pills. There is no data tosupport that having multivitamins will reduce your hear t risk. In fact, some of the vitamins inexcess can increase one’s risk of hear t disease because they are extracted from various sources,”opines Dr Bipeenchandra Bhamre, cardiac surgeon, Sir Harkisandas Narrottumdas, RelianceFoundation Hospital, who asks his patients to eat fruits, green vegetables, carrots, etc, go out inthe sun, as naturally available vitamins are better for our body rather than supplements.

SECRETS OF MUSCLE GROWTH

Gaining quality size, muscle masspercent without gaining body fat per-cent is not simple. Employ these sixtop principles for optimal hypertro-phy development (hyper trophy ismuscle growth). First law: Musclesgrow only if you apply a load of stressgreater than your muscles had previ-ously adapted to. During workout, youare actually causing tiny tears(known as micro-tears) in themuscle fibres by lifting weights. Af-ter you workout, your body repairs orreplaces damaged muscle fibres

through a cellular process where itfuses muscle fibres together to formnew muscle protein strands. This is theprocess by which muscles grow (sci-entifically termed hypertrophy). If you lift light weights (and do morerepetitions), your workout causes“only few” micro tears in the fibres. If a workout causes “only few” mi-cro-tears in the fibres, then littlemuscle growth will occur as a resultbecause the body figures it doesn’tneed to grow to deal again with sucha minor stimulus. How to apply a

proper load of stress on muscles? The main way is to lift progressivelyheavier weights. This additional ten-sion on the muscle helps tocause changes in the chemis-try of the muscle which helpsgrow muscles.Second law: Pump and fa-tigue actually don’t helpmuscles grow. Grow fromoverload. Muscle pump isworthless in terms of musclegrowth. The pump you feelwhen training is a result ofblood being “trapped” in themuscles. It is a good psycho-logical boost and isn’t a badthing but it is just not an indica-tor of muscle growth. High-repetition workouts fail to suf-ficiently overload muscles totrigger growth, even thoughthey deliver quite a pump. Many guys think that a burn-ing sensation in their musclesis indicative of an intense,“growth-inducing” workout. The “burn” you feel is simply

an infusion of lactic acid in the muscle, which is produced as a muscle burnsits energy stores.

It works best for beauty shoots as it helps you flaunt goodskin, nails and lips. This posture gives you a chance to do something

with your hands and looks quite sexy. It exudes an air of confidence.I have clicked Deepika in a similar pose for one of my calendarshoots. Even Priyanka has used it for a couple of shoots.‘IT’S JUST A FAD’AVINASH GOWARIKERJust like the stomach cramp pose, this is just a trend that will fadeaway. There is no rule or meaning to it.
