    3CANADIAN Days

This year, the 39th annual Canadian Days promises to deliver as much fun as ever, kicking off Thursday, July 30 with the Community Ice Cream Social and fin-ishing the afternoon of Sunday, Aug. 2 with announce-ments of the winners in the Medallion Hunt and But-ton Prize Drawing. The first citywide summer festival in Little Canada

was held in 1976 to celebrate the U.S. Bicentennial. People had so much fun they decided to keep the cel-ebration going, but with a nod to their city's namesake. So, in 1977, Little Canada and Thunder Bay,

Ontario, teamed up as sister cities, marking the rela-tionship with the Canadian Days celebration, a week-end of fun, food and friendship, and the rest is his-tory. About 50 Thunder Bay residents are expected to attend this year's Canadian Days, including Thunder Bay city officials and the MacGillivray Pipe Band, which has come down to perform ever since 1977. Spooner Park will once again be where it's all hap-

    Fun with family and friends

For nearly 40 years, Canadian Days has been a cant-miss summer

occasion fit for the entire family.

Mike Munzenrider/ReviewThose who brought their appetites to Canadian Days were not disappointed. see BAND on page 8
