Since Petsky Prunier joined the Canaccord Genuity Group in early 2019, the two firms have built a dominant, full-service middle market investment bank serving growth companies. With teams now fully integrated, the promise of the merger was realized in 2020, with Canaccord Genuity having a record year. Our firm’s significant volume of activity has continued into 2021. During the twelve months ended March 31, 2021, Canaccord Genuity’s US team:

• Completed 207 total transactions for 170 different corporate clients

• Acted as underwriter on 122 capital markets transactions, raising in excess of $46 billion in cumulative proceeds for more than 90 different issuers

o Book-ran 38 equity offerings and managed 29 announced “At-the-Market” programs, an increase of 65% and 300%, respectively, from the twelve months ended March 31, 2020

• Closed 56 advisory engagements, which ranged from strategic sales, private equity recaps, and divestitures to growth, mezzanine, and alternative financings

o More than 60% of our M&A activity involved Financial Sponsors on at least one side of the deal

• Was involved in seven SPAC-related transactions and mergers The US investment banking team, one of the most active investment banks in the middle market, continues to leverage deep industry expertise across a broad banking universe in practices including:

• TMMIS (Technology, Media, Marketing, and Information Services)

• Healthcare (Biotechnology, Biopharmaceuticals, IT, Services, Medical Technologies, Diagnostics, and Cannabis)

• Industrial & Sustainability (Building Technologies, Mobility, Renewables and Distributed Generation, Services, Smart Grid/Smart City, Energy Storage, Agriculture and Food)

Our firm’s track record of success is recognized by the financial sponsor community – approximately half of the firm’s engagements involve representing investor-backed companies; at the same time, our in-depth industry coverage also continues to position Canaccord Genuity’s US investment banking team as the go-to advisor for founder and management-owned businesses.
