ReflectionoftheWeekSometimesstudents'agreementdonotmeantheyagree,itmightmeantheyarenotawareofotheroptionsortheyareinfluencedbyteacher'sstrongopinions.Alsoweshouldconsiderthatstudentsmayhavechangingdemandsasthecoursesgoon,ongoingnegotiationmightbebetterthanonetimenegotiation(Hanlu).
ReflectionoftheWeekItryreallyhardwithmyelementaryschoolstudentstocelebratetheprocessandnotjustproductinaworldofschooling/educationthatstillverymuchoftenvaluesproduct.IfIwanttobuildcriticalthinkersandcitizensthatengagewiththelargerworldaroundthem(learningbeyondjusttheclassroomandcontinuingthislifelonglearning/acting/engagingintheworld)thentheprocessisvitaltopayattentionto(Devon).
ReflectionoftheWeekCurrently,somanyeducatorsfeeloverwhelmedintheirclassroomsthattheyhavea"hangingonbythefingernails"mentality,whichmakesitdifficulttoimagineempoweringothers.Asaresult,whilereadingthearticles,Ifoundmyselfwonderinghowschoolscanempowerteacherstotheextentthatteachersthenfeelconfidenttoempowerstudents(Mercer).
