Council CampsK-M Scout Ranch

K-M (K Bar M) Scout Camp is located 23 miles northwest of Lewistown, Montana in the North Moccasin Mountains. The camp consists of approximately600 acres of mountains and foothills including a gold rush era ghost town and a gold mine. K-M has fourteen troop sites, which will accommodate approximately30 people each.

Council Camps Melita Island

Melita Island is a 64-acre island on Flathead Lake in Northwest Montana.  Access is by boat only, boat transportation to and from the camp is provided.  Because of its location the camp will center around aquatic activities, but traditional Scout Summer activities such as Trail to First Class, Nature and Archery will be offered.

Council CampsNorthwest Grizzly Base

Grizzly Base is more than just a camp; it's a gateway to unlimited outdoor adventure in northwest Montana. Within a 75-mile radius of camp you'll find the Flathead and Lolo National Forests, Bob Marshall Wilderness and Mission Mountain Wilderness areas, Glacier National Park, "Wild and Scenic" rivers, Flathead Lake and Hungry Horse Reservoir. If that's not enough try on the Columbia Falls Water Slides or a White Water Raft Trip or a visit to the Museum of the Plains Indians on the Blackfoot Indian Reservation. Grizzly Base is your place to star and adventure in the Big Sky Country. The camp is located on Montana HWY 35, 18 miles South of Columbia Falls.

• SCOUT CRAFT The Scout Craft area allows Scouts to refine their skills in the camp living area and even learn some new ones. Our experts can teach everything from pioneering to Dutch oven cooking.MERIT BADGES OFFERED: Astronomy, Indian lore, Orienteering, Pioneering, Wilderness Survival, Cooking, Hiking, Backpacking, Camping, Communications, Emergency Preparedness and First Aid

• FIELD SPORTS Camp offers a .22 caliber rifle range, muzzle loading and shotgun shooting, and an archery range. Our staff can even teach you how to tie flies and use them on our lake.MERIT BADGES OFFERED: Rifle, Muzzle-Loading, and Shotgun Shooting, Archery and Fishing

• NATURE Scouts learn about the web of life, learn to appreciate the interrelationships of all living things, and other secrets of nature, as well as problems in the environment.MERIT BADGES OFFERED: Environmental Science, Fish & Wildlife Management, Forestry, Geology, Mammals, Nature, Soil & Water Conservation, Reptile and Amphibian Study, and Weather.

Council CampsK-M Programs HANDICRAFTS Handicraft allows Scouts to

learn the secrets of ancient peoples in working with wood, leather and reeds.MERIT BADGES OFFERED: Basketry, Leatherworking, and Woodcarving

CLIMBING TOWER HIGH ADVENTURE Scouts will learn and practice the skills of climbing and rappelling from experienced climbers on a 30-foot tower with different degrees of difficulty. What a rush, in rappelling down that first time. This is sure to be a "must do" activity for older Scouts. Check it out! The Climbing merit badge is now offered.

Council CampsMelita Island

Melita Island is in a primitive setting, patrols will be required to bring their own camp equipment (tents, dining flies and cooking equipment) and prepare their own food (food is issued fresh to the Scouts each day), propane stoves with propane are available for rent, for $25per stove per week, the food and drinking water will be provided. This is a patrol cooking camp.  There are no showers, water is available but must be carried to the campsite.

Council CampsNorthwest Grizzly Base

• BACKPACK into adjoining national forest or wilderness areas.

• WHITEWATER RAFTING on the north or middle fork of the Flathead River (Private Company). Trips range form 1/2 day to 3 days. Prices range for a 1/2 day trip from $18- $30, up to $150 for three days.

• GLACIER NATIONAL PARK Take self-guided day trips into Glacier. Either tour in your car or plan day hikes. Overnight backcountry camping is by permit only and campsites are difficult to get.

Council CampsNorthwest Grizzly Base

• COLUMBIA FALLS WATERSLIDES Montana's largest waterslide park that offers a variety of different water slides. A great way to cool off after a backpack trip.

• MUSEUM OF THE PLAINS INDIANS The museum is located on the east side of Glacier National Park in town of miles Browning, about 75 miles for Grizzly Base. This would make a great day trip through the park and back.

• NATIONAL BISON RANGE The Bison Range is near the town of Moiese, about 70 miles southwest of Grizzly Base. You can tour the museum and interpretive center and observe buffalo, deer, elk, antelope and other wildlife. Overnight camping is available at the Bison Range.

• FISHING Fish either on the lake at Grizzly Base or any of the area lakes, rivers or streams. You'll find rainbow, brook, brown and cut throat trout along with some northern pike and sockeye salmon. Montana resident or nonresident fishing permits are required.

• HORSEBACK RIDING There are several private stables around Grizzly Base that offer opportunities from hour-long to overnight rides. Fees vary depending upon duration of ride.

Council CampsK-M Webelos

K-M Scout Camp offers your Webleos den a unique opportunity to campout for three nights and four days. You will be able to choose from 11Activity Badges as well as participate in historic hikes to Kendell Town site and the Munski Meadows, and earn your whittlin' chip and fireman chit. The sports program is available as well as the rare opportunity to earn the BB gun shooting belt loop.

• Deposit: $170 is required to hold your space and will be applied to the total fees for your unit

• PROVISIONAL TROOP FEES: Youth: $175 before May 1st -$195 after May 1st

scouts, so get your reservations in early.

• Reservation Fees: $170 to hold a campsiteThe deposit of $170 will be applied to the total camp fee due.All fees must be paid by May 1, 2004 in order to guarantee the troop site.

• $195 per youth, $170 if paid by May 1st$55 per adult (2 adult minimum)
