Multivalent metals (click to advance through paragraphs)
Some metals can have multiple amounts of valence electrons. For example, copper can have 2 or 1 valence electrons and iron can have 3 or 2 valence electrons. There are two ways to differentiate them apart in a chemical formula: IUPAC and Latin
1. IUPAC: In brackets, indicate the number of valence electrons with Roman numerals. E.g. copper(I), copper(II)
2. Latin: Check if the element has a Latin root. If not, use the english root. Replace the end with “ic” if it has the larger charge. If it has the smaller charge, replace the end with “ous”. Make sure it sounds good. E.g. cuprous has 1 valence electron and cupric has 2.
Note: sometimes, the latin root will not sound good with ic or ous. In that case, simply use the english root. For example, mercury has the latin root Hydrargyrum, but the names used are mercuric and mercurous.

In the simplest terms, hydrates are pure substances which contain water. The water molecule is chemically bonded. This is indicated by the middle dot in the chemical formula. For example, cobalt chloride hexahydrate is: CoCl2·6H20

The Story So Far…
It is a period of galactic war
between the humans and the
Covenant, an alien species
intent on exterminating our
race. In order to counter their
technological superiority, we
have created the Spartans;
genetically manipulated super-
soldiers. Basically, they’re like
a bunch of Captain Americas in
futuristic armour.
Anyhow, they worked pretty
well, except there were too few
of them, and then one day,
there was a massive Covenant
attack launched on the planet
Reach, where all of them were.
Only the spaceship, the Pillar
of Autumn escaped, carrying
the last surviving Spartan. In
order to lead the enemy away
from Earth, it makes a random
jump into slip-space (kinda like
a worm hole)…
Covenant ships have been always faster than us sir and they’ve been
tracking us since we escaped from Reach.
What? We made a blind jump Cortana, how did they find us
so fast?
Okay then, how do we stand against
these guys?
I’m afraid sir, that frankly, we are screwed.

Do it right, and you move on to the next stage. Do it wrong, and you die. So first off, you will need to learn about the types of reactions below.

In order to disarm a Synthesis Bomb, you will need to have an understanding of synthesis reactions.Synthesis reactions are chemical reactions in which the smaller reactants (atoms and/or molecules) combine to form a larger product(s).

Identifying a Synthesis Reaction
To disarm bombs, sometimes you will be required to find a matching reaction equation. A synthesis reaction takes the form of:
