October 2019 Thank you to Everyone Who Attended our Campaign Kickoff Casino Night! What an amazing time we had at our 2019 Campaign Kickoff Event! For the first time, we hosted our event with a casino theme featuring blackjack, roulette & craps. Everyone had a great time playing casino style games, winning our many 'experiences" at the raffle table and auctions. This year, our prizes included two tickets for the Verde Canyon Railway, Pink Jeep tours, Enchanted Island, the Arizona Science Center, the Heard Museum etc. as well as "date nights" including dinner & movies, live theater tickets and tastings at Thumb Butte Distillery. The program portion of our event featured a few guest speakers and our Board President and Vice President, Mary Ann Suttles and David Hernandez. They talked about our mission and the efforts being made to strengthen Yavapai County via generous workplace giving campaign of Freeport McMoRan and the thoughtful grant funding UWYC awards to our partner programs. Our guest speaker line up included Mike Newcomb from Manzanita Outreach explaining how his program is wiping out hunger in the Verde Valley and we also heard from two amazing young men benefiting from the mentoring they receive from Boys to Men. Thank you to our many volunteers to helped make this event great! We are excited to kickoff our 2019 campaign strong and that was made possible by our many donors & volunteers. Thank you for investing your time and resources to help improve lives and build stronger communities throughout Yavapai County. Together we are Living United!

UWYC GrantProvides Truck

to Help End Hungerin the Verde Valley

United Way grants have truly made the difference in a tangible way. Mike Newcomb, Executive Directorof Manzanita Outreach shared this: “Many of our neighbors aren’t able to make it to other foodassistance providers in the Verde Valley. We identify the gaps in service and ll them. The refrigeratedtruck provides us with the mobility we need to bring food to the communities, neighborhoods and eventhe homes of our neighbors. Thanks to the generous grants from our partners, we are one step closerto reaching the goal we all have of ending hunger in the Verde Valley,”

This amazing solution was made possible by our generous donors. Thank you for changing countlesslives and for building stronger communities throughout Yavapai County. Now that's Living United!
