Camera movements that may be used in our trailer : Crane down shot: The crane shot would be a good shot to use when ROSS GIBSON has entered the new town. It could start off with an establishing shot the surrounding area until it moves into ROSS, representing the audience’s involvement within his life in the trailer; they are now the audience of his every move. However this can be difficult due to the lack of equipment we are available with. A way to try and replicate this shot would be climbing onto higher foundation and from there using the tripod in a downward motion into the character. This ultimately makes ROSS GIBSON feel small within the new town. It can reflect his role is society, being somewhat of an outcast, and being completely new to his surroundings, making the town feel bigger and more repressive in nature.

Crane up: Crane up is a great shot in order to establish the status and authority of a character. This shot can effectively tell the audience the emotional state of the character as well, and this would be very effective in portraying ROSS GIBSONS’S character who in shy and unstable in the new surrounding and his time in prison. This like the Crane shot can be used in the opening scene of the trailer where ROSS is introduced, giving the audience a way of understanding the character and what

characteristics they possess. The crane up shot also gives the impression that there is are obstacles that needs to be overcome, and for ‘Hollow Town’s’ story as an example, ROSS GIBSON needs to fit in with the new surrounding and try to start a and improved life.

Quick pan: The quick pan camera movement

would be a key shot to use during the final stage of our movie trailer. When Ross is confronted by the antagonist right at the end of the trailer, this would be an emotional change from happiness (When finding ISABELLA) to extreme fear and tension (When the antagonist appears behind ROSS). This camera movement would be key and very effective in altering the emotional state of the character within the trailer as well as the audience, as they would be able to sense unease inside the movie world.
