I lived at the Camden Vintage apartments for 3 years. When I moved in they stated no deposit was required. I noted in detail all the flaws and issues with the apartment when first moved in. Filled in their forms and blah blah blah. I was forgiving of the damaged guest bathroom since I lived alone and it wouldn't be seen much. I also was forgiving of the big crack that split the master bedroom in two all the way down the ceiling. I kept a nice place and so the rent was decentand I noted it, but let it slide. The gated community aspect is mostly for showand not actually something that kept people out. I was given code after code for the gate and found nights where it was open after midnight. or worse the gate wouldn't open and getting someone, was not always quick. I never felt unsafe living there. The parking space assigned to me was ridiculously far and reorganization of the spots to each building is in serious need. After my first year there,I expressed my concerns and was rather surprised how they said no changes couldbe made. They lowered my rent though and gave a good deal so I stayed for another 15 month lease (I hate moving). I was a tad irritated that when I looked at available units. I expressed my dislike of children and that I worked late and slept in most days. The apartment I was placed in was near three apartments each with more than one screaming kid. There also were two disabled residents that the transit service for them was more than a few times a nuisance leaving by car. (i know i sound like a jerk, i am saying that had I known I could have picked a different unit, they showed me three. You don't have to disclose the neighbors business, they could have just advised a different unit. I was very open about how I am.) The community they imply o

n the web and when you visit, is discounted Pappa Johns once a month and a yearly pool party.

Quick note about the pool, it's not heated and the main hot tub when full blastis only mildly higher than room temp. the jets are weak and should be updated. The 2nd hot tub that is more private doesn't even have jets its just like a large bowl of warm chlorinated water. It never had anyone using it (because Why would you?) Other amenities are fine, they are standard average quality things. There was a club house but no community room that was available for a small get together or resident reserve.

The properties requiring that you pay for cable tv is a pain even if you want cable tv. Cox cable seems to have the worst rates and service and only gives disco

unts for bundling 3 services. Since the cable tv service through the complex isinvolved you end up having to pay more than regular people and it was laughablewhat the final amount was to be. (I came from LA working in the cable industry and Vegas is so overpriced since no competition).

In January 2013 we had really heavy rain starting and the ceiling in the 2nd bedroom (I used as an office started leaking. 2 months of sending service request after request to address the issue and asking the front staff go by. After I showed them the video of black mold forming and water pouring into the room like a fountain (still have the video) the carpets were soaking wet and the whole thingwas really shocking how apathetic they were (after the video was seen a guy came in and redid the drywall and the paint, but the room always was damp and had astink after. I asked about them replacing the carpet. It had been previously men

tioned by property staff when visiting the apartment how I had "the old style" that went up the wall a bit. She mentioned that hadn't been like that for a few years. (I'm assuming why she found that interesting that I still had that style since I was only a tenant for a couple years.) The carpet was also not padded properly in all sections of the apartment. I had two downstairs neighbors that would insist I was "intentionally stomping and dropping things" and finally a office member came by to walk through my place and that was when all this carpeting talk came up. Although even with the carpets age and poor padding and then the room where it was mildew smelling, they did not feel that it warranted new carpet.

I had no serious issues with staff since my rent only had an issue that was a bank error and not mine once. They were so big with the Disneyland kindness. When I decided to move back to LA and needed to break the lease. Then that all changed. My air conditioning broke and never was fixed for the entire last 10 days there. (September Still Hot) The easy peasy fees that they talk about when signing are more convoluted and costly than it was made to sound when I moved in. After leaving they had wracked up an almost $3000.00 bill that over $1000.00 went to putting in NEW CARPET. They charged me for the broken sink and the issues all on the sheet I first filled out (which of course I cant find my copy) They even charged $100.00 for keys that I handed them. (no i have no proof, didn't think that would be needed) They also charged $25.00 for the amenities pass that had not been updated in two years. (They got the one I handed them.)

My move back to Los Angeles was a seriously stressful undertaking, which I did alone and so the scamming and greedy nature the company takes on when someone isleaving, was really sickening. I am not paying that ridiculous bill. It now though haunts my credit and has been something causing me to be rejected on places in LA. So I am now going to make sure that every site that has a review I can post on this company hears this story. If someone would like to clear that matter up and wipe that off my credit, it would be smart. I will be posting the footageto YouTube once I move into my new place. (but it's going up) The company can contact me. My number is still good. Do the right thing and stop being greedy. Just because a business practice is legal doesn't mean that it's ethical. Camden doesn't seem to be a trustworthy company. I wish I had looked up these reviews soo

ner and noticed I am not the only one they do this to. Vegas has so many placesto live, AVOID CAMDEN PROPERTIES!
