Cambridge creative and professional qualifications are taken in over 8000 schools

with over 142000subject entries per year

Cambridge International AS & A LevelCambridge International AS & A Level is typically for learners aged 16 to 19 years who need advanced study to prepare for the world of work or higher education. It builds on the foundations of Cambridge IGCSE or Cambridge O Level, although learners do not need to complete these stages before starting this one. Schools have a choice of 55 subjects and the freedom to offer them in almost any combination. Learners can specialise or study a broad range of subjects.

Cambridge International AS & A Levels have a linear structure with exams at the end of the course, which gives more time for teaching and learning. Linear qualifications give teachers more freedom to plan the course and set the pace of study that is appropriate for learners. There is more teaching time available for a linear syllabus, because less time is taken up preparing for and

taking externally set and marked examinations. A linear syllabus also allows more time for learners to internalise and practise concepts, and build up their skills, before their external examinations.

4. Cambridge International AS & A Level Art & Design (9704) is available in the March series from 2019 onwards.
