The pie chart shows that land degradation in the world today is caused by four different category. Firstly, it because over-grazing which is the biggest cause. Then, the land have degradation because deforestation and over-cultivation. Finally, it because other causes. The over-grazing, deforestation, and over-cultivation constitute 35%, 30% and 28% respectively. However the other causes only constitute 7% collectively. These causes affected different region in 1990s. The table shows causes of land degradation in North America, Europe, and Oceania. It can be seen that Europe has biggest amount of degraded land followed by Oceania which is a large group of island in South Pacific plus Australia and New Zealand, and the least is North America. In Oceania, there are no land degraded caused by over cultivation. However over- grazing contributed the biggest cause to make land degraded. The biggest cause in Europe and North America was deforestation and over- cultivation respectively. In conclusion based on these two data, the biggest three that caused land degradation are over-grazing, deforestation and over-cultivation. These data similar in the worldwide at this time and in three regions in 1990s.
