Save the Date! Week of July 4! SPY Family Mission Trip is calling YOUR name! Folks from Calvary are travelling for a few days, or the whole week of July 2 – 8 to Christiansburg, VA to help folks there with some repairs and upkeep on their homes. Many of the folks in need there are physically limited, and site and materials are arranged by Fieldstone, our host church. Some folks will stay at Fieldstone during part of the day and help run Vacation Bible School to the children of the community. We will sleep at the church, eat meals together, family style, and spend time in worship and community. This opportunity is available to all ages. Please contact Beth Posey if you would like more information or visit our website and click on mission. Currently over 20 of us are signed up and ready to go. If you cannot go to SPY, consider taking one of the donation envelopes (on the bulletin board in the narthex). You can include the amount on the outside (or any amount) and return it to the offering plate, office, or Beth Posey [email protected] and

help support MAKING OUR MARK. Please pray for this mission trip, the 20 people already signed up to attend, the ones who are still considering attending (even for a short time), and those who are working with the community in Christiansburg daily.

Sundae With the Pastor Sunday, July 10 at 12:30pm Do you have questions about Calvary UMC? Would you like to become a member? Come meet with Pastor Matthew following 11am worship on Sunday, July 10 (in the parlor). Because it’s summer it was suggested that something different might be in order (hence the “Sundae With the Pastor” - where coffee will no doubt be included). Please contact [email protected] if you plan to come so we’ll have enough Sundae supplies. Child care can be provided with advance notice before Thursday, July 8.

Have something to post in Calmeth News? Deadline is THURSDAY 12 noon to submit your articles or announcements, please contact us by email: [email protected], or simply call the church office: (703) 892-5185. Due to limited space we can only publish a limited number of articles. Articles or announcements that are lengthy may be edited. Thank you for keeping our family and friends up-to-date.

Check it out! Through e-giving there is an option to give regularly or you can also give as a one-time guest. Thank you for supporting Calvary UMC.

Did you know... Communion Offering Supports Pastor’s Discretionary Fund This fund is used by Pastor Matthew for local (Arlington) relief needs. You can donate by placing a contribution in the baskets placed at the outer aisles as you return to your seat after receiving communion.

Calling All Graduates It’s Getting to be That Time of Year We want to celebrate with our graduates. If you have a graduate, please send us their information (and future plans if you wish) by June 15 so that we can include it in an upcoming Calmeth and so that this community can pray for them and celebrate with them. Send information to [email protected].

Office Volunteer A Weekly Opportunity

The Church Office has heard from several possible volunteers, (thank you) but there is always room for more help—especially if it can be on a recurring scheduled basis. If you are interested or want to ask questions, please contact Molly at [email protected].

Prayer Corner Because prayer is so important to the Christian life we want to provide a place where prayers can be shared and lifted up. This space will now provide the names of people or circumstances that are in need of prayer so that we can all pray for sorrows, joys, trials, and celebrations.
