Prior Authorization

Prior Authorization (PA) • On certain drugs, the doctor’s office will need to submit a PA request for payment.• OptumRx home delivery customer service or the retail pharmacist will notify the

doctor that a PA is needed.• Approved PAs may be good for future refills. The duration of the PA is communicated

to both the doctor and the consumer.
