Call the Midwife, Season 7Sundays, March 25 – May 6, 7 PM
Poplar welcomes Lucille Anderson, the first West Indian midwife to be featured as a se-ries regular. Tested as never before, the nuns and nurses face challenging issues, from leprosy, tokophobia and stroke to Hunting-ton’s chorea and unmarried mothers.
OTHER MARCH FEATURED PROGRAMMING!
THE RISE AND FALL OF THE BROWN BUFFALOFriday, March 23, 8-9 PM
Explore the life of radical Chicano countercultural icon Oscar Zeta Acosta — the basis for Dr. Gonzo in Hunter S. Thompson’s Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas — in this fresh and genre-defying film that weaves archival footage with dramatized portrayals.
Acosta’s powerful literary voice, brash courtroom style and notorious revolutionary antics made him a revered figure within the Chicano movement of the 1960s and 70s. Phillip Rodriguez brings Acosta to life by employing a cinematic style as unorthodox as his subject: weaving archi-val footage and images with dramatized portrayals of Acosta, Thompson and other key figures and moments of the era.
INTO THE NIGHTMonday, March 26, 8-10 PM
Learn how an astrophysicist, preacher, philosopher and artisanal mortician grapple with universal questions of mortality. Weaving science, cryonics, near-death stories and green burials, this film invites us to rethink our place in the universe.

Cherish the Ladies is a Grammy-nominated, Irish-American super group that formed in New York City in 1985 to celebrate the rise of women in what had been a male-dominated Irish music scene. Since then, they have toured the world, played the White House and the Olympics, recorded 16 outstanding albums and an Emmy-winning live TV recording, “An Irish Homecoming.”

At IssueMarch 29th at 8 PM—Join WTVP for a special hour-long LIVE Town Hall edition of At Issue with H. Wayne Wilson! Many political districts have incongruous boundaries, creating politically “safe” districts. In a special one-hour edition of At Issue on March 29 at 8 p.m., a panel of experts will discuss the value of an independent commission and the likelihood of the bill’s success.”
