§ Solving problems or using technology set by challenges
4-6 sponsored challenges: § Start-up challenges for existing businesses
§ Co-creation challenges to develop new ideas

Our Selection Process: § Ideas which are on topic are considered based on:
§ Innovativeness § Business potential § Potential for social impact § Response to the challenge, and § Likelihood of success as a business
§ Based on those criteria, a shortlist is selected
§ The shortlist is reviewed by our selection committee of experts the group for Challenge 1 is seen here: http://bit.ly/1hOBxdi
§ The selection committee gives feedback and selected the winners of the challenge

Challenge 2
§ Open Source Technology for Disaster Management § Disaster preparedness, early warning, emergency communication and response, and recovery from natural disasters
§ Using: 3D printing, UAVs, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and other open source computer programs and systems
§ These technologies are inexpensive and flexible and can provide resources to the most vulnerable communities
§ This challenge is looking for active startups
§ Accepting applications until 31 July 2014
