OPERATION

Preparation

1. The heater design, temperature sensor and control circuit give good temperaturecontrol and uniformity, but make sure that there is a close fit of the probes in theblock to allow efficient heat transfer.

3. Plug the power cable into the socket in the back of the unit. Connect the powercable to the electricity supply to the mains cable.

Setting the operating temperature1. Ensure that the heater is switched off. The ON/OFF button should be in the out

position not the latched position. The temperature can be set while the heater ison but the unit will try to follow the set temperature as it is changed.

2. To set the temperature required, press and hold the star button, ?? , while pressingthe up arrow, A, or down arrow,

After use1. When you have finished calibrating, remember that parts of the unit and the probe

may be very hot. Take the precautions listed on page 4.

2. Switch off the heater by pressing and releasing the ON/OFF button. This will allowthe fan to cool the block near to ambient.

stabilise and calibrate your probe.

6. The controller is factory pre-set and only the set-temperature can bechanged.

3. When you have the correct temperature displayed, release the star button, ?? , andthe actual temperature of the block will be displayed.

4. When you are ready, press the heater ON/OFF button. The heater (and heaterindicator) comes on if the set temperature is higher than the current blocktemperature. The temperature displayed will increase until it reaches the settemperature.

5. Allow the temperature to
