Levi’s SpotlightHappy New Year everyone! I’ve had a good year in 2009. My dog Oscar got better (he had a bad back last year) and now we play like we used to. I started a new school - Samuel W. Shaw - where

my mom works. I am in Grade 5 and have the best teacher in the world - Mr. Smith. We use a lot of

technology at our school and I created a blog this year to help with my assignments: http://levipellett.edublogs.org. I went to a couple hockey camps this summer and I play the Center position with the Mcknight Mustangs. I also have been taking guitar lessons this fall, and have been learning the song “Welcome Home” by Coheed and Cambria.

Brin’s Graduated!

Hello Everyone! Well, I’ve finally graduated. YeeHaw!!! Grade 12 is now just a memory. I decided to take a year off after graduation to work and give me some time to figure out what I might like to do with the rest of my life. Presently I work at the airport at “Chocolaterie Bernard Callebaut.” In the New Year, I plan to attend the open studies program at Mount Royal University in Calgary and take a variety of courses to see what program tickles my fancy. I am considering the possibility of nursing but we’ll have to wait and see. No problem, I’ll figure it out.

Family Near & Far...

To help us celebrate Brin’s graduation, we had the opportunity to visit with some of our precious family members. Mom and Dad Pellett flew in from Cincinnati, Ohio to spend a couple weeks. Marion (Mary-Ann’s Mom) flew in from Manitoba. It was the first time Scott’s parents and Mary-Ann’s mom had met! Finally after 12 years! Also attending Brin’s graduation was her cousin, Shane Fehr (Mary-Ann’s nephew), Jason (Mary-Ann’s brother who lives in Calgary); and David (Mary-Ann’s brother), wife Sherry, and daughters Renee, Shelby, and Emma, who reside in Edson, Alberta.

Memory of Baba Juba

This past July, our Baba Juba passed away at the age of 107 years - a couple months shy of her 108th birthday. Baba came over to Canada from the Ukraine when she was 4-years old. She used to tell us the story of the boat ride across the Atlantic. She settled in Angusville, Manitoba where she married (Mike Juba) and had 11 children. Baba loved gardening and tended her own garden up until she moved into a nursing home at age 100 years. A favorite memory was visiting Baba Juba at her home and being served treats. A digital story in tribute to Baba can be found on the Digital Storytelling Page at: http://mlmitchellpe.edublogs.org
