Ride Like a Girl-Summer Series
The Austin Ridge Riders have kicked-off their 12thseason of the “Ride Like a Girl” Series; led by womenfor women. They break into groups based on skilllevel and provide instruction and a lot of positiveencouragement. The group generally averagesaround 30 ladies per ride and ALWAYS attracts atleast one or two "new to dirt" riders each week!

Ok, so you know how to change a flat tire, but therest of the bike is a mystery. This intermediate-levelclass teaches students about bike parts, basic repairtechniques and when to seek professional repairhelp. Topics include cable systems and adjustmentsto your brakes and derailleur. To keep the classinteractive, seats are limited to 6.

Wilderness First Aid Course withWilderness Medicine Institute
REI is collaborating with the Wilderness MedicineInstitute of NOLS to offer a comprehensive two daycourse that will teach you the wilderness medicineskills you need to recreate with confidence in thebackcountry. From the Patient Assessment Systemthrough traumatic, medical, and environmentalemergencies, this fast-paced, hands-on course isdesigned to prepare you to act if an accident occurs.Class participants will receive a 16-hour WFAcertification at course completion. Join us for a screening of National Geographic'svideo special "America's Wild Spaces: The PacificCrest Trail" hosted by 2004 PCT thru-hiker Scott"Stormtrooper" Jacobsmeyer. Zigzagging its wayfrom Mexico to Canada through California, Oregonand Washington the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) boaststhe greatest elevation changes of any of America'sNational Scenic Trails, allowing it to pass through sixout of seven of North America's ecozones includinghigh and low desert, old-growth forest andartic-alpine country. After the video Scott will sharephotos & insights from his own PCT journey andprovide advice on preparing for & completing a PCTthru-hike.
