Highland Park United Methodist Church
April 29, 2018
Welcome to Highland Park. Whoever you are, wherever you are, whatever is going on in your life, you are welcome here and loved by God and God’s people! We are excited you came to worship with us this morning. For those who have little ones, our nursery is available and any usher will be glad to point you in the right direction.
The mission of Highland Park United Methodist Church
is to make disciples of Jesus Christ
for the transformation of the world.
Youth Choir is getting ready to start back! Interested children and youth (ages 8-18)
should contact Fran Coleman ([email protected]).
TRANSFORM A CHILD’S
FUTURE. Each year,
Epworth Children’s Home
provides care to children in our
own communities who have
experienced abuse, neglect, and
loss. Epworth’s care breaks
the destructive cycle and encourages children to aim higher in life. The physical,
emotional, academic, and spiritual care they receive transforms lives. On Sunday,
May 13, our congregation will support Epworth by collecting the Annual Epworth
Mother’s Day Offering. We invite you to give generously to the children who call
Epworth home. Epworth does not receive apportionments from the United Methodist
Conference. This offering is our opportunity to support this vital ministry. For more
information, please visit Epworth online at www.epworthchildrenshome.org.
Ready to take the next step? Are you ready to take the next step in your faith? Make a
profession of faith in Christ, join the church, find a place to serve, join a group to grow in
faith? God never forces us, but waits for us to take the next step. Wherever you are in
your journey, if you are feeling like God is moving you to take the next step, please
contact Pastor Mike, Hope, Jeannette, or Pastor Bud. You may email them or call the
church office.
The Mary Lazar Circle will meet at the church on Tuesday, May 8th, at 3 PM. We will
be studying 2 Corinthians 11 through 12. Vistors are welcome.

Thank you, Jeannette Braswell!
Today is Jeannette’s last Sunday as our Director of Children’s Ministries. She has done an incredible job as our DCM for the last 3 1/2 years. She has built our Children’s Ministry into a strong ministry helping our families raise their children to be followers of Jesus. While she is not leaving the church, she will not be in the office every day. The children, parents, and especially the staff will miss her smiling face and her hard work helping every area of the church. We wish her the best and pray for her continued success as she and Kevin raise their children. We love you, Jeannette, and thank God for bringing you to our Highland Park family!
