Abe Lincoln, Mark Twain & the Civil War is part of the Berthoud Commu-nity Library District’s adult summer reading program, and will be held Friday, Aug. 2 at 2 p.m. Mark Twain is famous for quipping, “The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated.” Coming to Ber-thoud to resurrect this most famous of American literary icons is actor Dave Ehlert, another of Missouri’s sons. A role Ehlert has performed for 19 years, Mark Twain will be joined on stage by the 16th U.S. president (also played by Ehlert) to discuss the evils of slavery and racism during the pre- and post-Civil War periods.
